Sky throttling my broadband!

We recently switched broadband providers to Sky and I have to say its absolutely appauling how they are throttling my bandwidth. Like clockwork, my evenings internet browsing is severely hampered by download speeds 0.06mbps (according to speedtest.net). It works fine at other points of the day. I get near my full quoted 7 or 8mb connection speed. Sky sent me a new broadband filter to fix the problem. As everyone knows broadband filters only work properly at off peak right? I don't download much. I don't use torrents.

Is there anything I can do?

Yes, basically your sharing a line with everyone around your local exchange, meaning On-Peak your internet will go really slow.

Theres nothing you can do about it other than change your Provider.

Have a look on here SamKnows Put in your postcode and select your nearest Exchange, then look in the LLU Operator Presence box and look for a provider with a Tick next to them. The ones with Ticks have their own lines installed meaning much faster speeds.

You could try and complain, see if you get a discount or so many months free. Nothing much you can do

Gutted, I am sure things will get better in the future with broadband speeds. When the networks have stopped with mobile devices, they will get back onto home broadband!
