you need to either put the 2nd box in the other room by taking the cable from the dish to said room or wiring the cable from the sky box to the other room....
easier to run a cable from the dish though. es[ecially if the room you want it to be in is on the same side of the house as the dish !!!

    yes it's called sky multiroom

Yep, split your cable either by just taking a second one from the dish or put it thru a proper tv cable splitter if you get any loss of signal (not sure if this applies for digital reception, but old analogue aerials used to suffer from loss of signal when split - if you do get loss of signal take one cable from your dish to a splitter box (which will amplify it) say, in your loft, then go from there to the two boxes.) I'd imagine that would work fine.

alternatively, get a second dish and make them look like spooky eyes on the front of your house...

    as dave said
    its called multiroom ,
they send the signal so could only get one working if no multiroom subscription !

In addition to the Sky Multiroom subscription which is an additional 10 quid a month, you would also need a "quad LNB" - you more than probably currently only have a twin LNB, ie only have two feeds coming from your dish to your current HD box, it would need replacing with a quad, which allows 4 feeds, 2 to each box to allow recording on both.

The OP probably has a quad LNB already if he has Sky HD, twin LNB's have not been fitted for years by Sky.

A standard Sky Receiver only requires one feed.
