SKY TV can i rejoin straight away?

Found 13th Dec 2012
My wife has left me and cancelled my sky tv broadband and telephone service.
She has given them the 31 days notice so we are covered for 31 days.
At the end is there a way we can get reconnected on a new account without interuption of services?
Ideally as a new customer.

He needs the porn channels more than ever
No, you have to wait a year before you become a new customer again. If there is someone in the house with a different name you could get them to sign up as a new customer though, get a new girlfriend quick.

I agree. I read the post twice to make sure I read it correctly. People have different priorities.

Anyway Yes you can signup as a new customer hopefully without having your service interrupted

nah serious
19 years married and she realises she doesnt love me anymore :'(
Gotta have the sky sports for me n my 14 year old lad
Try ringing them and saying you cancelled as you're weighing up wether to go to virgin but you're having second thoughts and wanted to check if they could offer a deal as you like sky but are struggling financially. They usually have some good deals they can offer.

My priorities is make sure my lad doesn't suffer.
I need to be sure his life isn't affected by the way his mother has walked out on us.

I don't want a virgin
If it was in her name, try ringing Sky and telling them the truth. At least one of those miserable buggers has to be human and it is Christmas.

ill try that tomorrow.
Thanks

If it's in her name then surely you can just sign up as a new customer?

As Maxtweenie said,,,

But try this angle: My wife wants to cancel, She wants to move to Virigin Media instead. But if you can offer me a deal that beats Virgin's current offers hands down, I'll stay a Sky customer but put it in my name instead....
Worth a try .... and Before you ring em up,,, check all current offers from Sky competitors!

P.S Good luck to you and your lad .... n Merry Christmas!

There's a 1 year holding period after cancellation - -- -- - Normally you cant cancel and rejoin straight away at the same address....
Just sign up for a new contract. Go through Quidco for M&S vouchers and cashback.

Sorry your missus has gone

Thanks for all answers and compassion.
I did love her very much and she was my soul mate.
It was very sudden.
She had a minor car accident and a small disagreement over who advised her not to get courtesy car cover made her walk out.
22 years of my life and being a loving husband just gone down the pan.
Me and my boy are shell shocked but i truly believe now we will be better off without her.
She has been horrible to us both for a week now and she has walked out on her 2 dogs and told me to "get rid of them just do what you have to"
Gutted
But not gutted enough to not enjoy Sundays big match lol
There is always two sides to a story..................or rather three..........your side, your wife's side............and the truth.

Wishing you all the best - the only priority here is your son.
...this thread makes me lose faith in humanity.
Phone them back up and say your not sure you want to leave and see if they do you a deal Im on 75% off for 12 months never paid full whack, always managed 50% off although it did mean actually being without for a month or two untill the 75% and £50 off your bill came through the door!

This year holding period is nonsense. I cancelled sky in my name and signed up straight away in my wife's with no problem.

Agree,

Although you will only get a new customer deal due to the contract in your wife's name.

Check out mse for 50% off new customer deals, ring sky to see what they offer. Also don't forget to check quidco and tcb

Really hope you and your boy enjoy Christmas
Maybe ask her to come back .........and cancel the cancellation?
22 years (and sky tv) got to be worth fighting for?

My comments about sky a bit tongue in cheek, but 22 years, an argument about a courtessy car and being horrible for a week or two. There wouldn't be a married couple in the country if we all split of an argument and a couple of weeks of fall out/nastiness.
Get talking to her - see Relate maybe? - try sort things out with her rather than worry about the damn tele
Just call up Sky and be honest., when me and my partner split that's what I did and to their credit they were very very helpful.
normally as its under the same house (regardless of different name) then they say 12 months time is when you become a new customer, though, there are ways around this if you are willing to go to hell..

simply say your wife has left you, you now want the bill in your name and sign up as a new customer with a new customer deal, just make sure she's not shouting the odds at the kids in the background while you're on the phone

unless of course, she has actually left you, then just be honest as they allow this sort of thing

FTB and F Sky as well. Get you and your lad a couple of decent mountain bikes and you'll never look back!

cheers again for all your comments.
I still havent gotten around to calling sky just yet.
Really am feeling horrible today as its now been over the week and the realism has set in that she is either mentally ill or the grass is greener elsewhere.
I must stay strong for my boy who has been very agitated today and quite angry
Only makes me feel worse
