Skys new 31 day notice period.

I'm sure many HUKD'ers got the letter from Sky a couple of weeks ago regarding the new 31 day notice period (was 30 days). Does anyone know if this now means that people under contract can cancel early due to Sky Changing the T&C's that were originally signed up to?

I signed up for Sky HD a couple of months ago and to be honest, its good..... but I don't think its £10p/m good so looking to drop it.

I'm not sure what's going on tbh.

I'm not on SkyHD and had Sky+ before all this supertelly stuff. Now, its turn to Sky Sports HD1 for live coverage when its on normal Sky Sports aswell, I just think Sky are pushing the HD boxes too much and forgetting about the people that haven't opted for HD.

I bet alot of people are complaining and coming off Sky for Virgin. They don't do Sky+ boxes anymore I don't think so it's not like you can downgrade from HD either.

I just cancelled my SKy and have the 31 days left, although any changes to T&Cs mean that if you are in contract, you can certainly argue to end it early.

Normally only if it is going to affect your service...quality wise or financially wise...which this isnt really.

I just called and tried my luck but the guy was a little cagey (standard sky response). He obviously didn't want me to cancel and said I could cancel my TV as I was well out of the contract for that (started 2006). He said Sky *may* try to recover the remaining value of the HD contract.

Yeah thats why you may need to argue, or be a lawyer/solicitor. It's probably not going to go your way though.

yeah they will try and recover the rest of contract otherwise they will look to charge you for the sky hd box as you prob got t free or discounted on the assumption of a 12 month contract

You could get out of it early only if your service is affected quality wise, financially wise. Like, if they tried to come in and say the HD pack is going up to £15 a month and you are getting less channels.

Ah ok, I was just curious to know if anyone else had managed to use these new terms and conditions set-out by sky to get rid of unwanted products etc...

I got HD but don't subscribe to the HD mix or whatever it's called. What bugs me is that all the on demand stuff/anytime is from the HD channels so I can't watch it.
