    Sleep....Zzz!

    Evening all,

    Recently I've been tired constantly from around midday - right till I get to sleep.

    Ive been eating properly, lots of fluids and all that. But have been taking about an hour to actually get to sleep, finding it difficult because I'm so tired my eyes are aching, head sore, sore/stiff joints and how one bad ass sore throat.

    Anyone got any tips about how to stay awake and alert in the day (when I need 2 be) and tips 2 get to sleep at night.?

    Tried;

    Warm drinks, milky drinks, hot water bottle and even counting sheep, Dont really wanna take any drowziness pills or ewt.

    Well, not particularly this weekend, had a lazy one cause im so nackered.

    But it started like.. last weekend, in the week im walking loads to, from, around my megaplex of a college, plenty of air..

    So I'd say im defo getting what the experts tell you to.

    Actually, that defo is a problem. I seem 2 always have Mcdonalds on my mind in that hour i cant sleep. Exitement. But surely this doesnt explain why I am so completly exausted.

    Yeah but thats only an hour or so when I'm trying to get to sleep, everyones mind wonders then lol.

    How about exercising your mind with a crossword or puzzles etc. ???

    If things are on your mind, you will have trouble sleeping.

    Try clearing your mind of thoughts before trying to sleep, a hot bath, calm music (no lyrics) or deep breathing may also help :thumbsup:

    Try a tonic medicine. Just picks you up a bit.

    hey-strange one here...but have you had ur eyes tested recently?could explain the tiredness and sore eyes..although not the unable to get asleep thing!

    Good point, too much surfing is bad for your eyesight :whistling:

    Suggest lots of exercise and fresh air AND stay off the junk - fizzy drinks, coffee etc

    I find that reading something easy for about 15 minutes before I go to bed makes all the difference. Can't do without it anymore now!!! Other trick I have taught my nephews is that you need to count to 100 but you need to see the numbers in your mind as well. You will find that you get to 35 and did not 'see' the numbers since 9 and you need to start at 9 again. Never fails me!! ;o)
    A with all of these things, you will need to persist in order to build up a routine so your body knows when it is sleeping time!

    As Pete mentioned,don't have drinks containing caffeine late at night.

    Don't go straight from the PC to bed either because i find if you've been on here chatting etc that you can't "swicth off" if you go to bed immediately.

    Watching tv in bed makes me drowsy or read a boring book, as it will send you to sleep as you're bored senseless!
