    did it before for a few days but been on their website and i think my mindste jus was [email protected] at the time....so wanna give it a shot. however a few questions for u SWers

    * can u REALLY eat and eat till ur stuffed or are u sensible (not saying i would...but i prob might!)
    *anyone joined online only
    *how soon do u get result
    s*o yeah the baked beans do they have to be reduced salt and sugar ones, as does the cheese?
    *whats the deal with chicken and lamb mince (the only meat i eat!)
    *can u work out syns easily


    positive and negative viewpoins please. will read posts in morning (if any!) and decide then but i am inclined to join...need a stricter reigime then 'eating sensible' im too lame for that!!

    Its like weight watchers, only a quid cheaper

    Ive been going to slimming world since October and have lost nearly 2 stone, this new diet they have, extra easy is much better as you can eat more, extra easy is where you can eat everything on a green day and everything on an original and all superfree and an A and B option and still have your 15 syns.

    so u can eat as much as u like or is it tree set meals only?

    Im not trying to burst your bubble hun, and whilst your on it you will lose as i know a few people who have been and some still are on it, but as soon as they come off it they end up putting more weight than they lost back on, hence end up bigger than what they where, and starts the vicious circle, but good luck

    carp.....i signed up for 3 months now...60quid....will try to stay down i guess?

    Sassie does have a few good points, eating healthy is a lifestyle choice , if you just do it temporarily yes you will lose weight, but when you go back to doing what your eating now, you will be back were you started.

    You can eat as much as you like - you fill up with "free" foods!!!! It's brilliant. I've lost 4 stones since last May and am still going strong. The Extra Easy plan is the best ever - I tried it last week as it's fairly new. Give it a try, I realise now I have to maintain a healthy lifestyle once I've lost all my excess weight but then shouldn't we all be doing this anyway? NOTHING is banned - it's just a matter of proportions. But there is definitely no need for anyone following Slimming World to ever feel hungry.

    bg1 i know sass is correct...paul mckennas 'diet' plan was all about changing the way u ate..and that worked well as well but just cant get to grips with it...i think i jus need a stricter plan and hope i dont pile it on

    The point is its a lifestyle change not a diet! Once you get to your target weight you become a free member so you can continue to be a member without the cost.

    Of course your going to put all your weight back on if you go back to eating as you did before(thats how they got that big in the first place!)
    Its not a magic wand that zaps it off for life, like most things you have to work at it.

    I joined last March and lost 2.5 stone, it took me 8 months. I continue to go to my group for support and ideas. I have remained a target member since.

    I think you will enjoy the choices of meals and foods and the new eating plan Extra Easy is great as you can eat both meats and carbs in the same meal. (which I guess makes up a lot of British favorite dinners).

    A few years ago I tried the online only option thinking I could do it on my own but I failed lol, i just couldn't stick to it without the regular meetings/group support. I ended up joining a local group about a year ago and haven't looked back (lost 3 1/2 stone). I love my group and the people who go are fab!

    If you stick to it 100% then you should see results pretty fast but I will echo whats been said, if you decide to come off it - it will be so easy to put it all back on again. The amount of members we have who reach target (you don't pay once you reach target either!) leave thinking they can do it alone/keep weight off end up coming back 6 months later back where they started because they go back to eating how they used too, old habits die hard!

    I see sw as a way of changing my life forever, I don't even feel I am on a 'diet'. I still eat all things I enjoy, I'm never hungry. Some people are amazed at how much you can eat lol

    As for syns I would recommend buying the syn handbook, it's been great for me when I haven't had internet access to check syns online.

    I eat the normal baked beans, but If you want to eat low salt beans then thats fine too they are free. Chicken and Lamb Mince (lean) are both free foods so you can eat as much as you like.
