    Smallest 4K tv for PS4 PRO/Xbox - help please?

    Hi guys,

looking for a 4K TV which is decent for gaming on PS4 pro and Xbox one S please.

Something with decent input lag would help.

Cheaper the better, however doesn't have to be cheapest. Something well priced. This will go in the bedroom.

    Advice appreciated.

    Thank you

small and 4k is an oxymoron, you wont be able to tell the difference until you get to 40" +

Plus you realise the games will only run in HD/FHD, only videos will get the 4K treatment.

Personally I think you have a choice between the Samsung UE40K6020 (£399) or the Panasonic 40DX700 (£599) prices from John Lewis. They were both cheaper over the Black Friday week.

Not entirely true. Although some games that claim to be 4K use checkerboarding as a cheat one game that is rendered in native 4K resolution is The Last of us Remastered.

I'm just after the better image really and to be ready when Scorpio released. I've seen the pro upscale games and it definitely looks better.

The main reason I want a Pro is higher FPS. If you are wondering why not get a PC then? The reason I do not want a PC is due to friends and family gaming on console.

A TV wont give you better frame rates, so better FPS will be wasted.

Not sure if this is fixed yet, but many 4K TVs will only run at 25-30fps in 4K mode due to HDMI limitations, and I think the limit on ANY affordable screen I have seen is 60fps. This is why pro players prefer lower resolutions.

You might be better looking at a proper monitor and get a separate tuner.

I was under the impression Battlefield 1 for example ran at near 60fps on the PS4 pro?

In regards to a monitor, I'd prefer one as it would do on my desk. No 4K monitors though?

    Thanks

A number of 4K monitors out there, but as I said, not really very good yet for gaming at high FPS, even then they dont use HDMI connections, but DisplayPort, which I have yet to see a TV fitted with.

If space is an issue, I will post a link to a very good, very cheap tilt and swivel wall mount on Amazon, I have one and I got one for a friend for our 49" 4K TVs.

Ré BF, the game might run at 60fps, but if the monitor cannot match the frame rate, you get stutter/tearing issues.
I have my PC gfx locked to 60fps as I had exactly this issue, as I dont have a fast gaming monitor myself.

I wouldn't mind seeing the link please, as most new tvs have the annoying legs now

That is good to hear. What 4k monitors are there please? I am genuinely interested.

I dont have any links to hand, you will have to search via google or possibly Amazon, I think I came across a couple on there, but as I said, they arent really any good for gaming.
I have to go do some work, so SWMBO cannot complain when she gets back from work.

Here is one of the better 4K monitors

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01B6JD2R6/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=83WKJ5ENMC8&coliid=IOHI0W6M6VB2V

Most 4K gaming monitors are limited to 60hz refresh rate at that resolution though.

For a PC it's all about frame rate anyway and 144hz monitors are what everyone is buying.
