30 miles along the motorway and then down some silly country roads at least once in the week..has anyone else heard of this warning??

Oh no! I do think it looks pretty but it can be a pain too. But last year here in the east there was still snow around on christmas day

yay snow...but boo at the stupid compacted snow/ice on the pavements a few days later that dont get gritted

I like the snow but being about 30 mins away from work. if it snows i don't get paid.

yeh i agree , lovely first day......snowmen , sleigh etc and then it turns into nasty ice, slush and causes so many problems

    I LOVE SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And all the above comments prove we are getting old!!

When we were kids, we loved the snow, meant a day off school to play out in the snow making things, Once the snow turned to ice the school re-opened and we went in running over the ice puddles skating on the ice falling over, laughing with no fear at all.

Now we have to do school runs and drive down hills to get to work, we see the annoying, boring side to snow! I hate the stuff as I live up the hill from school and work, so where ever I go I end up falling over! lol

    lol, your so right

agrh i live at the top of a very big hill so i'll never get flooded but it's no fun driving down it in a Zafira in the snow oO

I love snow but if I don't go to work I won't get paid and so money vs snow, money wins.

i have a new sledge and am ready for the snow x

I love snow!! & especially in the east is even better

Can they predict the weather now.

Read it in the paper on Wednesday - apparently big white out due next week. We'd already got the snow shovel and big sledge this week anyway so just in time. Also stocked up with rock salt and normal table salt because I needed normal table salt last year for cooking and there was NONE to had because of the snow! So bring it on - I'm ready X)

oh god, i hate the snow

Me too - like watching from the warmth of my sofa but hate going out in it. The sledge we bought is actually for me to take the kids down to the nursery because I live on a hill and we get the snow really bad. The pavements/roads are never cleared for a few days so this is the only way I'd get down to the nursery. Its even got brakes so I'm trusting the 4 year old to pull them when I say so or else I can see me being scooped up along with them at the steep part lol X)

haha its the same here, we seem to get the snow really bad and my 3 yr old feels the cold really bad (even tho he's packed out like an ice hockey player) and ends up crying bless him. seen a few round here with the sledges doing that, its a good idea, think i'll have to get one too (for the kids obviously lol)

Aw bless him - mine are like that too, it looks great fun to being then … Aw bless him - mine are like that too, it looks great fun to being then the gloves are soaking wet and freezing hands etc. I just let them out the back while I watch inside. I used to see the parents pulling the sledges past my window when I mine were tiny (so I didn't have to go out anyway) and never gave it a thought that they were actually HAVING to use the sledge to get their kids to school, I just thought they were being "fun" parents. After last year I have learned a lesson as we got snow the week before Christmas and it continued till the last week in January. Didn't have a sledge and the buggy was going nowhere in the snow so I'm well prepared this time! Mind you I'm kacking it now I think about going down that steep bit oO

hahaha you made me chuckle... i hate having to balance myself and have my 2 boys hanging on an arm each sliding all over lol. i'm the same tho, i'll play with them in it for a bit, build a snowman etc but then its back to in the house with a hot cuppa lol
