my batteries are not charging can you use ordinary aa batteries for the above

Aye just stick normal rechargeables in, prob the batteries are gubbed.
If the solar panel is bust you could put in normal batteries but will have to keep replacing them.

Eek...:whistling: At least it's not as bad as putting them on a mains charger. Acid everywhere, indoor firework display etc etc

You can buy a charger for normal AA batteries too. Have a look around - they work quite well and are not dangerous - but you cannot put normal batteries in a solar light....
