Her gracious majesty and defender of the people i has a palace with over 100 bedrooms in it within a mile of the disaster. I think I can see a solution here.

IT IS OWNED BY THE PEOPLE, not her royal German highness.

Only if she had a few of these standing empty around the country

http://imgur.com/a/IeJby

CAN YOU IMAGINE HER STANDING THERE TELLING YOU SHE IS SO SORRY TO HEAR YOU HAVE NOTHING THEN GETTING BACK IN HER CAR AND POPPING BACK OFF TO THE PALACE.

You know the worst thing Graham? 100 bedrooms and yet she still doesn't have to buy a TV licence.

That was exactly what she did today X)

You don't see why that's impossible? Really!?

NO, I don't why don't you explain why the homeless, injured and terrified couldn't stay in the empty rooms designed for visiting dignitaries to the palace.

No I don't see how you could tell a small child "Sorry about having literally nothing, I'm just popping off to the palace, you could see the smoke from there, from the floors of empty bedrooms".

No I don't see how you could call the palace property of the people then leave the homeless and devastated families by the kerb as your Jaguar spins off.

No, I don't see how the leader and defender of the people can tell the victims of how terrible it must be for them yet having a dozen houses that could support them for a few weeks, give the kids the time of their lives and help put this tragedy behind them.

No, I don't see how a woman worth hundreds of millions with an ENTIRE COUNTRY and one of the richest landowners in the world can simply shrug her shoulders and drive off.

THIS WOMAN has the means to help these vulnerable people yet chose not to do so, but will walk around a hospital ward with a fixed grin and her "Family" in tow not wanting to breathe the same air, christ I bet she uses the alcoholic gel as mouthwash when leaving!

there are some good ideas and then there are some bad ideas

This is just as bad as JC saying take over the homes of the rich.

It's a seriously bad time for everyone involved in this mess. But this is a seriously bad post... Almost treats the situation as a joke.

No, really it doesn't what it does is to call into question the ability of the rich to help the poor and choosing not to do so. This individual in an instant could solve the housing problem, show compassion, trust and honour. She has no problem sending the kids in tower blocks to war when they join the army but will give them NOTHING!

Totally disgusting, I saw a news report where the Queen was challenged about help the children and thankfully action man Wills was there. Did she help the children or did she walk off?

And then there are those born into poverty who have the army as the only way out, we encourage this, we have the army recruiting in schools in poverty stricken areas with the bribes of money.

yeah lets put someone tops and tails in her queen size bed with her oO

Top suggestion, but I bet those savages are too "precious" to bring the homeless in, for some even with just over a week of Ramadan to go.

And I would be very surprised if the Rich in Kensington and Chelsea take in the homeless. The homeless be crying for the Richest borough in the UK to give them proper housing but absolutely no way the council will give them houses worth half a million upwards (valued so high on location alone, let alone what's in them), the best case scenario for them is they'll be dumped in another Tower Block.

If your simple solution worked (and Corbyn's proposal to house them in luxury flats), there would still be a problem...
All this accommodation would have run out ages ago because other people who would have needed it would be living in it right now.

I understand that the survivors have nothing, but there are thousands more in this country who have nothing.

You would be discriminating against people who have lived on the street all their lives with nothing.
Edited by: "fps_d0minat0r" 16th Jun

They are demanding to be rehoused in the Kensington area so Buckingham Palace is out of the area they wish to live.

plenty of new build flats lying empty in Stratford they could easily be housed there in the interim. but those are for the rich private housing to be sold. surely there's a high rise going up somewhere in Kensington that they could be housed until the tower block is rebuilt and refurbished. they could make a deal with the developers if they really wanted to but I don't know how much humanity the council or developers actually have.

Bob Geldof said he would home refugees, why not these poor people instead - oh yeah he wont because he is full of **** and wind

You know the worst thing Graham? 100 bedrooms and yet she still doesn't have to buy a TV licence.

this is far from over except the crying.

it was tragic. it was not a conspiracy to move the poor to make way for the rich. if the building was poorly built then this was a decision by the architects to save money-not an attempt to murder the residents.
like others have stated there are others that are poor/homeless, why should these get to move into the queen's palace? would that happen in any other country or era? no.
the people demanding to stay in this location know they are likely to get decent accomodation-sadly even in terrible times like this people are always looking to get something from it.
theres a witch hunt for politicians just because they didn't meet the people!!?? -really that's what they want? Theresa May to say hello?
this country is a joke. maybe the whole thing needs to burn down and be restarted from scratch.

THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND - DEFENDER OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH.

If you've just lost everything don't worry the gates at the palace will be double locked tonight.

She could have done so much to help those in need, people are sleeping on church floors but no the peoples queen has a look round. She could have boosted the royals into peoples hearts like never before. Even if just the children.

I can see violence coming from the anger and this could have been avoided.

ahem, queen of the uk, Graham

Yeh totally agree, much better to help nobody at all than help a few when possible.

Defender of the Christian faith is not in her remit to care for those in need?

We have growing protests already with "protestors" storming meetings, the whole place is just waiting to kick off. She could have offered her protection to those in need, offered them safe accommodation and defused whatever is about to happen on the streets. She would have been seen as a saviour and true leader. Instead, she is peeking out of Windsor Castle complaining abut the noise of the locals.

I'm really glad that as she was chosen by the Christian GOD she is living by his examples and commandments.

Regina and ruler of her subjects only when it suits, no compassion, only there for the photographers, fixed fake smile and not listening to a word.

Why not pop off and change your Facebook logo, those people sleeping on floors will know how much they mean to you. Or maybe a few Hashtags with a sad face.

What's interesting is do the 150 servants bedrooms each need a TV licence? I suspect they do like a halls of residence.

Edgy.

to be fair he only has 3 50 bedroom houses, not as much space as the queen.

We have a truly terrible housing crises
and it is tragedy upon tragedy that it has taken this to highlight it

What to do ?
Rent caps ? Hell Yes

also if you have a home but choose to keep it empty you should pay through nose for the privilege !

There must be some that would be happy to get away to the country for a weekend. Theresa could offer them a few days at Chequers too.

I would have thought there were loads of offers of free accommodation from all the Champagne Socialists In London ?

Am i right in thinking that the OP doesn't like the queen much?

bribes of money or better known as a salary...real world definition.

I agree with the OP all this media rubbish and hand wringing after the fact, but don't trust the councils sofa surfing counts against you on the housing list, they may say they will make a special case here, but weeks, months down the line when the general interest has warn off, don't trust em.

The richest council in the country needs to put them all in hotels then rehouse them
