Someone on my router?

When I go to active connections it says there is an active session with 86.28.121.94, and several on 194.168.4.100 yet all local connections are in the format of: 192.168.0.10x

Anyone got any ideas?

Ok seems 194.168.4.100 is Virgins DNS server, but I have never seen it listed on my active session before.

if you are that paranoid, change your wireless password, or turn off if you are one wired

its just internal, external and routed ip's not some thief

you can see attached devices in the router anyway (mac id's)

Yeah the virgin one is the DNS address I know, but I've never seen active connections with it that was all. And you say 194.168.4.100 is the router? What router? the router is 192.168.0.1. And the modem is 192.168.100.1.

Not paranoid as such it is WPA2, and the password is shared between our house of 5 people, thus can't turn off wireless. It is just IP that connect are assigned as 192.168.0.10x

The 194.168.4.100 is the DNS as well, but cant see why there is 4 connections active to it. Nevermind!

Cheers.

browser, software update services, anti virus updates, IM software, and many things can show an incoming connection too, all are separate connections and route via the same dns, look for connected mac id's in the router, that will show you what machines are connected

even worse, after using torrents, lots of incomming connections get blocked at the router firewall for often 30 minutes or more, can watch them pinging your ip

Tracert any suspicious IP addresses when they're active. You'll see how far they are from your PC, then.

Virgin use proxy servers etc, changes all the time so it could be that.

Mac address filtering on router , instead of wpa security?
do u have virgin router ? thats normally wpa security... i suggest mac address filtering.
