sony ss-is15 use as an amplifier with different speakers

Found 24th Mar 2017

I've just purchased a Sony home theatre amp model is called ss-is15, this was meant to be used with small golf ball sized speakers or a witless kit but seems to be an amplifier.

It can do 5.1 and has multiple connections. I have some Samsung 5.1 speakers from a dvd home cinema the wires will connect to this.

I'm just wondering would this be possible so could I use the Sony hometheatre sub as an amplifier.

Sorry if I sound confusing I'm confused myself.

Any help

Is greatly appreciated.

I have the same system and it's a great one.If it is the same connection type, then it should not be a problem, you can also use the sub with it. I dont beleive you can use the Sony sub with any other home theatre though as the end of the connection is a strange one!
What are the power & impedance ratings for the speakers and sub/amp ?
