Agreed (Although I don't have any myself), but you can't just replace a child like mobile phones.

    So sad

Very sad, but that's a bit of a drive to make to do something so cliche.

Be surprised if no-one around them tried to get them help.

Commiting suicide by jumping off Beachy Head. Committing suicide is one thing, but driving for more than an hour to do so is determined and quite sad.

Sorry, but I have no sympathy for people who commit suicide. It's just selfish.

What about each of the parents family, who have now just lost yet another relative.

Understandably, losing a child is extremely tough, but life must go on.

Everyones opinions must be respected of course, but I think basically until we are in such a situation(which I hope never happens to anyone again),we cannot judge other peoples reactions fairly

While I also don't agree with suicide, I do not know how I would cope with losing a child. I don't think any of us can judge unless we have been threw something ourselfs, and lets hope it never happens.

    May they rest in peace

hard to put this into words but im sure the family would be glad they were together obvously not glad just dont know how to word it the little boy clearly WAS their life and they had no other children i dont think they would have done it if they had another child

Been following this story for the last couple of day's as is just along the road from me.
So very tragic as a mother i can't even contemplate how i would cope if I lost one of mine,
Thoughts are with the rest of the family and friends.
They are all together again as they must have wanted so may they all RIP

Unfortunately, understanding why people might commit suicide requires an understanding of humanity and the human condition.

Until you've been there, you might want to thank yourself lucky that you don't fully understand how desperate some people can become. Quietly.

It's true, that i haven't been in the position, but suicide is for cowards, who aren't brave enough to fight.

I know there are people on this forum who have lost children, but they are still here today, by staying strong.

It's not mentioned whether the parents parents are still alive, but if they are, the parents are putting them through exactly what they themselves went through. All the pain and grief they suffered.

Again, you're reductive attitude to something you don't seem to know anything about is astounding.

It's not about bravery. That's a concept that doesn't even factor into it.

It's about perception. Your perception is based on a lack of knowledge and experience of how some people can feel.

People who feel suicidal have an altered perspective that I doubt you could even comprehend.

This is so very, very sad

Funny because I feel quite the opposite! I would be too scared to do such a thing.

Think it took some time for the full story to come out, first report I saw was that three bodies had been found that of a male, female and a child no mention of the child already being deceased or in a rucksack so understandable to think what you did i thought and said the same thing.

heard this on the radio this morning

so sad for anyone to feel so much pain through grief.

Actually, if my husband hadn't believed exactly this viewpoint when we lost our baby I might not now still be breathing as I too wanted to die with our child. Every day, he coaxed me, persuaded me, bullied me, forced me to stay with him on many layers. I can still remember the hatred I felt towards him when he would never let me give up and give in. He made sure I got up and functioned each day, even though I hated him for it. He put up with some despicable grief-stricken behaviour from me during that time.

Suicide is cowardly yes. Depression and grief are inherently selfish, yet intensely and incredibly powerful.

I do feel sorry for anyone who has suicidal thoughts or idealisations, especially due to loss or grief, but the only way to truely conquer depression is to put others before oneself.

    That is very true.

I always try to remember that there are actually people in a worse position than me too - but that's very difficult to remember in grief - especially one like the loss of a child. It's easier to remember if you have another child to live for

    choclatepup;5381351

It's hard to remember anything at all when you are grieving, in a way it's like living in an alternative universe to the rest of the planet.

Awful for the couple concerned that no-one was there to help them deal with the uncontrollability and intensity of their grief just when they needed it.
