words won't mean a lot.

It's what you do for them that will count the most.

Hey, this is a very loving and giving community... people are very kind on these forums... my condolences to your familys friend btw... such a tragedy at such a young age.

+1

If the same thing happened to me that's what would make me happy but that's just me I guess might be different for different people.

Words can be said.
But effort is something special?
But good luck and sorry to hear about the loss.

what makes it worse as we have just found out that the same disease has struck them both and they were in hospital together that the younger one at 14 is not going to survive so they are now going to lose him also

Sometimes theres nothing you can say, word's just arn't enough. Just let them know your there if they need you :friends:

agree with that, words maybe comforting, but being there for them, whenever they need you is more than words will ever mean

nobody can take their pain away, noone can walk in their shoes, its something they will have to do, its sadly something many go through and all you can do is be there when needed, its a hard time for all concerned ut you need to show strength when theirs runs out xxx

words mean little at times like these. what can you say that will make it all better.
You can't change whats happened, only time will heal.
Just be there for them.

My best friend lost her daughter two years ago and i hadnt a clue how i was going to deal with seeing her, she only lived round the corner and saw her every day, but felt it wasnt my place to go round their with my grief and i sat here, alone, waiting and feeling absolutely a terrible friend, she knew where i was when i was needed, and phoned me at 5am a few days later to come here, we talked, we cried, we talked more and cried more and when she left i told her i was probably the worst friend out and felt i was a little gutless, her words where "you are my best friend, and when all the others have gne you will still be here" and she was right all the others soon left her to move on and i am still here, its not all about who can say the best or who can do the best, its about being there when your needed, whenever that may be xx

just be there for them to talk to, be a good listener and be honest..... no-one expects you to have all the answers.
