South West Coast Path

Planning a trip to Devon and/or Cornwall for about a week and planning doing a week's worth of walking on the South West Coast Path. Obviously time does not allow me to do the whole walk, but I would appreciate any feedback into which sections would give me the best bang-for-buck in terms of scenery and the whole flavour of the walk.

How do you intend on getting to the coast path? Car will require long term parking, train restricts where you can start and finish if keeping within a budget.
Will you be getting your bags transferred?

I will then be able to help you a little more.

I'm not a walker myself but people I know have said that they enjoy the Hartland - Bideford and the section down to Tintagel and the Penzance - St Ives.

Why not join up to something like The Ramblers or this lot?

If you are arriving by train then the best places to walk in Cornwall would be:

    Padstow to St Ives
    St Ives to Penzance
    St Ives to Falmouth
    Falmouth to Plymouth

if you are looking for cheap accommodation I can recommend loads on any of those stretches.

Dependant on how far you walk each day will determine how much your luggage transfers will cost.

I would personally recommend the St Ives to Falmouth. North and South Coast as well as numerous creeks once you pass Coverack towards Falmouth.

If you are driving then a week long parking pass will cost you £30+, although I may be able to advise you of accommodations which may allow you to leave your car with them.
