Spare a thought this Christmas to those who work in retail (PC World)

Just wanted to spare a moment for all those unlucky folks who work for a PCWorld/Currys.

I used to work for them years ago and never got to see Christmas, instead I was told the needs of the business are far more important than that of my family. We would work long hours over this period and have days off taken away due to managers keen to impress there superiors.

Anyway rant over. I know work for a family IT and enjoy Christmas with my family and feel bad for those who still have to put up with the general public and the odd horrible unsympathetic boss at PCWorld/Currys

same everywhere, poor folks at pcworld having a job

They do take the flack for all those missed deliveries this time of year.

I'd rather spare a thought for the ones that work for nhs fire and police at this time of year

Just having and practicing thoughtfulness and compassion for all fellow dwellers of our wee planet would be nice at any time of year..

Pcworld wouldn't be missed if it went under tbh staff in Wolves store don't have a clue what they're doing.
Obviously i hope it doesn't go under as hate seeing anyone losing their job.

I second that.

Never understood why so many are willing to put other people's business, stock holders ect, before their own business (life). The balance is massively in their favour.

They want to be able to pay their credit card bills at the end of January the following year.

Cant they just say NO im sticking to my contracted hours? I doubt PC World could do anything about that

Ive got a mate who works in Tesco and loves the amount of overtime going, so xmas is a great thing for a lot of people in retail jobs

Why. it's their choice, I'd rather spend a thought for all those alone and without and I don't mean material things, at this time of year.

What a silly thread..

I remember playing some kind of moon lander game on a Tandy TRS-80 at the store in Birmingham somewhere round the very early eighties.

I bought a Sound Blaster 16 from Tandy back around 92/93ish i got more value from that upgrade to my PC than i have done upgrading from PS3 to PS4 i miss gaming being for geeks...

PCWorld managers are not born like normal people, they are summoned by black magic.

lol I'm guessing your thread is a joke or you have had a very sheltered life. I'll be thinking of my sister and all her colleagues working in hospital A&E departments, being sworn at, physically attacked, vomited on, bled on, peed on and worse. Spending whole shifts without any time for even ONE cup of tea or even a toilet break, having to deal with personality disordered attention seekrs pretending they've taken overdoses whilst trying to do the paperwork for the last person and bring the next one in, etc.

Thank your lucky stars if the worst you've ever had to deal with is a greedy retailer. good grief.
