Speakers advice

so I have had various speakers over the years. ranging from 5.1 surround sound, to a traditional amp with good speakers.

Im trying to reduce the items in my living room to rid the cluster.
I have seen sound bars on Amazon alongside 25w portable speakers.

does anyone have advice on how these expensive portable speakers compare to a standard amp with 2 speakers?
or any other buying advice
I'm after sound quality with some bass.
doesn't have to be the loudest.
