    Sports Personality Of The Year

Been a great year for Britain (football, cricket and rugby aside), i dont think anyone deserves the title out right, but after sunday night Hamilton is favourite to win it.

As much as I love Formula One, i believe that Addlington and Hoy deserve it more so.

Mainly due to the fact with Addlington that she was never expected to win even one gold, but to get a few was phenomenal.

Also Andy Murray deserves a shout due to all the tournaments hes won plus the fact that he beat Nadal en route to the US grand slam final.

Who do you think should win it.

    PLEASE KEEP ON TOPIC

    gorra be hamilton

Addlington as shes local. She could do with spending some of that lotto funding on a nose job though! Or maybe thats her secret for carving through the water!

Andy Murray for me a real Top tennis player from this island at last.
Would go with Adlington as a close 2nd

Same for me, She's also my local..!!

    1. Adlington
    2. Hoy
    3. Murray
    4. Hamilton

not a footballer or cricketer in sight...............forget the big money...........the 4 above are at the top of their game! Without doubt the one with the biggest personality is Adlington (this isn't about best sports person its about the best personality in sport in the last year)!

It has to be an olympian, just purely for the fact that the olympics only comes around every 4 years, and thats all they trained for for the last 4 years.

    1. Hoy
    2. Adlington
    3. Murray
    4. Hamilton

    Addlington for me.

Surely Glock will win the overseas personality.

    Addliington for me too!

addlington must be up there with hoy but i would love to see Eleanor Simmonds to be in there with a chance -

    hamilton will obviously win it.

british black man and youngest champion of f1 ever.

    great for great britain

shame he doesnt live here then
    ************

Eleanor simmonds / becky addlington deserves to win it

british white women - youngest females ever to win 2 gold medals

both struggled to get proper training facilities

    typical of great britain

Think it should be Hoy as the first Brit in 100 years to win three golds at one Olimpic games,
but I am sure that it will be Hamilton not to mention that tthe BBC now has rights to F1 next year,
    Addlington is a great shout.
But Murray wont win even winning 3 titles and getting to the US open final due to the unfortunate lack of tv personality,

Yeah i Agree Hoy should get it. Hamilton is a World Champion, but Hoy is three time World Champion. And Hoy has done it without Millions of Pounds worth of backing.

and wasnt gifted a top car and didnt win by a man doing an extremely suspicious last lap (waits for hamilton fan boys)

At Last we have a personality.....

Yes He is up against some fantastic Olympians....

    BUT
You will remember where you where when Hamilton Won The Championship

    :w00t:

if hamilton had drove an exciting race - took on massa - he would have been a more deserving case - as it was he sat back knowing he only needed 5 points - chicken

hoy - addlington - simmonds all gave 100%

    I don't think thats a valid arguement.

You could argue that Hamilton gave his all over the whole season. where as with the Olympians it was all over within a few weeks, a few days for most events.

Hamilton copete in over 15 races, and if it hadn't have been for the points deduction then he'd have wrapped it up before Sunday.

Chris Hoy still for me though.

Nicole Cooke - world and Olympic Champion - First time that has been done...

    addlington for me!
