St Tropez Self Tan Mousse.......... Help Urgent!!!!

Banned
After seeing the deal request for some self tan mousse my wife (or whitey, as I call her) decided for our holiday she wanted some.

However she has never applied it before and is worried she'll end up looking tangoed.

So can some of you girls give us some tips on how to apply to get the best results

Cheers

Anyone?......She's stood here naked waiting for some advice :-(

According to those naff magazine articles you get about how to do this, that and the other, they always go on about exfoliating and moisturising before applying, and not slapping it on your knees or elbows too much. Never done it myself as I've been too scared of having orange elbows and knees and stripes down my arms, so can't say whether it actually works or not, but should give you a laugh if it doesn't :-D

Get her to exfoliate and moisturise for about a week before so it doesn't go patchy on drier areas. Personally i would get a spray tan done professionally, nothing worse than orange knees and elbows and the odd white patch.

Thanks, she's just done the exfoliating and moisturising bit, but like you she's worried it'll make her look scary (not that we'd notice  )

I would sugest doing a small test area to see how it comes out

Yeah, we go away tomorrow and they couldn't fit her in on the spray tan thingy until next week

Apparently the St Tropez mousse illiminates the streaks and patchyness thats why we got it. have you ever applied some though?

I would hope so too, I bought her a nice summer dress yesterday, and apart from her white legs she looks gorgeous in it :x But she's refusing to wear it unless she gets this sorted.

My other half uses San Tropez all the time and its pretty good. She deffo scrubs first and then uses gloves to rub on. To be honest, as long as you keep the same amount of scrub and then just gently use it, then it'll be ok. Make sure you keep it on for long enough though as she made that mistake first time and wasted £15!

How long do you need to keep it on for?

I haven't personally, i use the gradual lotion thingy. The test patch thing sounds sensible, how pale is she? i would say if you are going to use it then stay somewhere cool while it dries cos sweat makes it streak, make sure you wash your hands thoroughly after and then rub moisturiser over knees, heels elbows etc to avoid concentration of colour. My friends use it and it looks ok. You just need time and patience.

Isn't there one of those speedy tanning places nearby? 10 minutes on a sunbed there should give her a bit of colour I'd have thought, and its a lot quicker than laying in the garden all afternoon for pretty much the same result

Nah she goes pink, kinda same colour as a salmon, she's got very sensitive skin

my brother in law went for a spray tan before he went on holiday, they mixed the "solution" wrongly and he came out like he had been tangoed with big orange streaks in between his fingers, elbows, feet
He spent hours in the shower trying to scrub it off and the salon offered him a free spray tan for their mess up to which he refused,we did laugh though his bald head was shiny and orange hahaha

I havent found a lotion yet that doesnt send me orange. A couple of years ago I had a spray tan and gradually got oranger and oranger to the point that I sat in the bath and scrubbed myself raw. Everyone is different and good advise is to test in an inconspicuous area first, I will leave the decision of where, up to you!

Awwwww bless you should let her out more lol

i don't think i would be brave enough to risk it if i was going away the next day. It would spoil my whole holiday. Hope you sort something out and have a brilliant holiday

I'm sure she'll be fine with St Tropez. I'm very pale & it gives a nice light tan, not a bit of orange in sight!

Have a lovely holiday

don't ya know the rules!...................

Let us know how it turns out in the morning

Yeah, i'm quite pale too but i've never had a problem using St.Tropez - always comes out a lovely colour. The most important thing is definately to exfoliate thoroughly. I hope it turns out well - and have a great holiday
