Standard Sky broadband question

Found 23rd Apr
Sky called my recently to knock a few quid of my broadband (£9 all in pm now yay!) and to give me a new router (£10p&p not really free haha) but they told me I could expect 39-40Mb potentially. I am not on fibre. Is that the norm now? Thanks

No, were they not just saying your line is capable if you were to move to fibre.

standard ADSL is like up to 20mbps

I think the keyword there is ‘could’ support.

Think only fibre can reach them speeds, I've been with sky fibre for a few years and barely get them speeds and I'm on the sky fibre max aswell
I was with sky and couldn’t get fibre in my area. I was getting 2mb it was diabolical.
I got my new router and did a speed test on my phone and it says 13MB, so I guess the dream is over haha!
G.fast uses existing copper
Not offered me one. Been with them three years.

Ring up and complain. That's a massive drop in what they estimated. If you complain enough they may (may) do a great deal on fibre for similar money.
