Star Wars on Wii - INFO NEEDED

My mate is looking to buy the new star wars game for his kid, but he has been informed that the lightsaber on the wii version does not respond to up & down movements, only side-to-side, which seems a bit pointless.

Can anyone who owns a copy of the game on the Wii please comment.

    Cheers.

I only played this game breifly couple of weeks ago and from what I remember different movements have different affects. There are only a few moves like 2 different ways of hitting with the light saber throwing the lightsaber... to be honest I didnt like the game... But a star wars fanatic will probably like it... might be worth checking youtube for videos...

If you want then I will try the game out tonight and post you the exact movents and controls...

The Force Unleashed has movement in all directions as far as I can tell.

You can pick your enemies up and throw them in any direction you feel, you can also sling your lightsabre at the nearest enemy for forward and backward movement, so I would say it depends on the game.

Anyone else got this game on Wii ?????
Can anyone point me in the direction of the instruction manual online ???

The controls are actually nothing like you would have hoped for. All light sabre movements are issued by a "wiggle" of the wiimote and not slash-type movements. A block is performed by holding the wiimote sideways and pressing A. A lightsabre throw is obtained by holding A and wiggling the wiimote. Everything else is mainly obtained by using the nunchuck's joystick and buttons.

The game is a breif novelty, but far too scripted in my opinion. To beat the "bossess" you have to slap them around a bit and then follow the script of wiggle left hand, wiggle right hand as the symbols appear on the screen in order to defeat the boss. Sometimes its more like you're watching it than playing it.
