Stealing someone else's thread ideas...what would you offer for this house?

Perfect for what we need, we haven't viewed it yet but know the area well, we've driven past it a few times and I have fallen in love much to hubby's disgust. We've been discussing how much we reckon we should offer, we were thinking £145k - what do you think?

    Whoops, thanks jtx xx

wish we could buy a house like that around here for that kinda price!

I'd try for 125 in todays climate.

Depends on the market in that particular area I suppose.

It looks very nice, and I would jump at the chance of something like that here for that price, but the houses are a little bit more expensive than that where I want to live.

Check netprices.com to see what others have been going for this year,in same road.
I think that is a fair offer what you have offered,I would even consider starting at £140K.

The market seems to be picking up right now, it's an absolute steal at that price already.

Is it ok form to ask people how much their bottom line is on a viewing? Are they likely to tell the truth?

    What's that website?

I tried netprices.com but I don't think that was it.

    I couldn't connect to netprice.com!

Jesus where i live that would cost over £300,000!!!

it is ok to ask but they are not gonna offer the truth........they want as much as they can get out of you.

It depends on a few things.....how long has it been on the market for, do you have finance in place? do they need a quick sale? are there other houses in the area for sale?

I have recently bought one in moira and i got mine for 15% below the asking price so i would be starting with that - the worst they can say is no

The house hasn't been on the market long, we have a house to sell first so I suppose that would go against us. Why aren't estate agents open tomorrow, the lazy beggars!!!

    its bank holiday thats why

Yeah, I know, but that's not really a good enough excuse lol

Seems like a reasonable price for the space etc. I wouldn't go too low if you are serious about getting it. Maybe an offer of £151k to include carpets, curtains, basic fittings and white goods..?

Sorry I didn't know that,I did know the house was in Antrim as I clicked on the link but didn't know the sites not do N.I.

    Try Zoopla maybe?

A few months ago, agents were even accepting offers on houses until you had a buyer inline for your own or were not fixed to a chain.
This may or may not of changed and may only of been in my area, but worth considering.

Also n my area lower priced hoses are now starting to sell quite quickly for the buy-to-let market, now i don't know what position in the market this one would be. Over here the houses upto like £115k are selling quite quickly.

Hmm, I hadn't considered that they might not accept the offer till our house is sold. Something else to ask when the estate agency is open, thanks

Would be double around my way.
