Don't buy pointless stuff

Any one that is buying things through boredom needs to think again.
The Royal mail and other couriers are under serious strain, don't order unnecessary items for 2 seconds of excitement, think twice before ordering things you do not need.

I need vape juice, the stores are closed. You've made me feel guilty lol. But it is a valuable point you make. I've warned my daughter, she's 16 and murder for buying crap online lol.
But if you must, buy from British suppliers selling British made goods where possible

Id love to see the Chinese reseller sites banned from hukd but more chance of hell freezing over

Providing the quality is the same I will buy from the place that provides it cost effectively.
If we don’t manufacture in this country because of expensive labour and overheads then we must shop elsewhere.

I imagine, most people have a huge proportion of items manufactured outside of the Uk simply because of the fact we do not manufacture like in the past.

Ofcourse what you say is an ideal world but I certainly wouldn’t spend more more (making me have less) to help someone else out. That’s just bad math and poor financial planning.

Me too. It's called Hot UK Deals and they allow these dubious Chinese companies that help scumbags to avoid paying UK VAT and import duty by falsifying documents.

China, the country that created the coronavirus with their disgusting live animal markets that could potentially kill 80,000,000 people. But hey, if it saves you a few quid, go for it.

An interesting read here nonetheless

So China, a count that has had these markets, health data dardos and crazy edibles has created a pandemic? Something they have had and done for hundreds of years but the human immune system has suddenly become inadequate..? That’s just a theory and is certainly not a hard fact. Wuhan was just the first place to discover a person with the virus, certainly doesn’t mean it started there.
Could have been cause through 5G, Biological warfare, could have started anywhere in the world. Until it’s tried, tested and factual, we don’t know.

Anyway, I certainly will continue to buy whilst thinking of MY money, could not care less about the next persons finances.

Don't return it. That will give the couriers or Royal Mail more work to do.

Carry on getting your 2 seconds of excitement 😜

Its only in recent decades, that China has opened up to the world so they could have had epidemics for centuries. Its been proven that SARS originated from wuhan in 2003. We dodged a bullet then and should have immediately created a better system to handle a possible pandemic. Madness that people from wuhan could still fly internationally in February despite thousands of deaths being reported in that area in December!
Dont buy unnecessary items!!! What do you think we specialise on here

Interested in buying my carrots or toothbrush?
I try not to buy unneccessary items all year round but I usually fail!!

I guess for many people they would never have found themselves in this situation before. If you're usually at home alone I would imagine you're well stocked for entertainment. Obviously I work from home and when i'm not working and the wife and kids are out of the house I can keep myself busy for hours on the Switch or doing jobs i've put off for months. Now though with us all at home and when not working we have times during the day when we aren't used to trying to keep busy.

We've tried to be sensible with what we buy but it is difficult! We have a badminton set arriving soon...few kids toys for the garden...random grocery bits from Amazon but all things we do need and will use for time to come.

I do understand the point of this thread but I guess with everything it is just about doing things sensibly. I'm sure the time will come when we won't be able to order anything at all.

So because of an illness that could have started somewhere you want me to purchase elsewhere? The op wants me to buy from the UK businesses only to help our country?
I am writing this on my Chinese phone, whilst sat on my Italian sofa, in my Bangladesh made clothes, with my coffee placed on a Swedish table, my Spanish easy peelers in hand, with the news on my South Korean TV playing through my Chinese Xbox and you want me to buy British haha. Come on guys, we all know we are not the manufacturers we used to be. It's ludicrous to think we could get by only buying British and if we could, we would have to very well off. I can guarantee that if everything we bought was British made (other than being a dictatorship) the people wouldn't be able to live! We manage because we buy from places where labour is cost effective.

Going back to the illness, who's to say the illness didn't start elsewhere and Wuhan where the first to detect it? Whilst we all point the finger we need to remember that China have nearly eradicated the disease with less fatalities/and or cases than some EU countries and America.. We need to be doing what China did by building a dedicated hospital with a few working days (Would have taken years to build in the UK)
We cannot base our purchasing strategies on what countries offer less health risks..
More to the point where can people buy very hard working, illustrious ,creative and productive, British made face masks?
To be fair I buy pointless stuff all year round, because I can. So it’s rather unfair for me to stop just because others started when I’m one of the ones who keep people employed the rest of the year...
Everyone`s sat at home they are going to buy stuff online
On behalf of my son who has just lost his job because of the virus but has picked up work as a courier so he can pay his rent - please keep buying pointless stuff
The evidence is the courier deliveries have gone right down in my street, hardly see vans/cars now.
