Stop Light Reflection on TV

Found 12th Jun 2009
My TV is opposite a bay window and in the day i have to close at least one curtain to stop majority of the reflection but it annoys me having a darker room.

So anybody have any clever ideas?

Cant move the furniture about im afraid, as weve tried, and it doesnt work for us.

I don't think there is any other answer, other than drawing the curtain … I don't think there is any other answer, other than drawing the curtain or moving your tvTo be honest it's not like we get much sun here for that long, so I guess you'll just have to suffer, lol

i hate suffering!
i was going to put up a blind on the wall of the bay window, like a border curtain if you like...but the still dont think it will work.

Not quite the same as natural light...and hate having the curtains closed as well.

They have a reflective screen whereas LCDs have a Anti-reflective coating,
Get some window tinting film, lets a fair amount of natural light through but none of the glare.
Venetian blinds on each window would look good and are pretty easy to fit. Sorted my light problem - I always used to watch the F1 with the curtain drawn :-D

]Hillarys make them to measure and often have 50% off sales (and 10% quidco). I've used them before, quick service and good value if you measure and fit yourself

Its because plasmas have a glass front, some LCD's also reflect if they have a glass front
What i am getting at is why not trade the plasma for a LCD ?

We have it on our fronts and it looks ok (we have silver reflective privacy film) it stops nosy gits looking in and to be hones from outside you cant really tell.

Ok if you have loads of money i guess
You see this is why I brought a LCD screen as apposed to a Plasma which is shiny. The reflection on my laptop drives me barmy as it is

But ive had LCDs as well, and for SD which is 80% of usage its better then LCD.
Its not majorly reflective, but when it is bright like last week, it can be annoying.

yeah just the expensive of it, and would be arkward as well due to the large handles on the double glazing alongside the small dado like rail.

Nah the stuff we have is not as silver its more like a smokey grey reflection, I'll try and get a pic of ours tomorrow. You tend to get people staring as they go past wondering why they cant see a thing through it, as its by the side of my desk and the window slightly open I do end to shout out good morning, lovely day etc and it confuses them even more:whistling:

the room is upstairs anyways, so people cant really look in plus the front garden stops that.
