    Studio flat/apartment

May sound like a dumb question to some, but what exactly is a studio flat/apartment? Does it always mean living room, bedroom and kitchen are combined in one room?

From what i've seen a studio flat is normally a bedroom, separate kitchen and bathroom.

Nope, that's a bedsit as far as I'm aware. Studio is living room & kitchen combined, seperate bedroom etc...

well kind of yes...usually you end up with one room (bedroom/living room) occasionally you'll get a bathroom and kitchen all be it small seperate rooms but basically it feel like one room..Had one for a year last year when I first moved to London...very cheap and good for a preson on their tod

"Studio" is a posh word for a lack of space:giggle: Estate agents would soon be out of business if they said "it's a cramped pokey little place, so small that the kitchen is in the living room"

It's one (big) room combining kitchen/living room and sleeping area, with separate bathroom.

Well I'm just looking into getting a place with my gf. There's no way I can live in a place with her that doesn't have a separate bedroom and living room. The kitchen I don't care about, I just want to be able to have two separate areas to relax in. It would suck sharing when one person wants to go to bed, the other wants to stay up doing something.

exactly my point but i have found and may do this for about an extra £50 / month i can get a 1bed (total being £325/month)

i was in one for a while-it was basically one big room with kitchen units, cooker etc at one end, settee and telly etc next, then a sort of corner bend to a bed and wardrobe area. The loo etc was in a separate room off-next to the corner bit-hope this makes sense !

The worst bit was you heard everything all the time-the cooker was next to you, the washing machine was on at night at the end of your bedroom etc - not much fun - but bareable for a few weeks.
