I ordered an item off a website however they sent me the wrong item. The company said they would provide me with a pre paid envelope to send it back in. The envelope was dated the 19/3/10 and I received it through the post on the 23/3/10. So I go to the post office today and try to send it but the lady says the date on the envelope had already expired.

I dont know anything about this pre paid postage label stuff, is the post office lady wrong or did the company screw up again?

It's probably similar to the prepaid postage you can print yourself using paypal or such like, there is a date on it which the package must be posted by,if you miss the deadline the post office can't accept it,so yes,it's the companies fault, not the post office

Company wasnt shop to by any chance was it? I just received completely the wrong game today.
