suggestions for increasing iphone memory?

Wanting to increase my wife's iPhone 6s Plus 16gb. Have seen USB memory sticks with lightening connection but don't know which are good.
Looking for 16gb max, under £30
Thanks

You buy a new iPhone, either that or reclaim space by moving photos/videos to an online storage provider and deleting them from the device.

USB memory aint that good, people have lost there photos in the past, best to transfer them to a pc or online storage.

Use the Apple online thing, its by far and away the best way, and its instant. I thought it was a con but with a 16gb phone its been almost essential.

iCloud storage plan, 79p per month for 50gb, change the settings on your phone so they are low res should free up some space.... failing that new Iphone with more capacity

If you use the cloud, don't store any *ahem* personal pictures. It's been the downfall of many celebrity recently...

You can always use Google Photos to backup Photos and Vids. App is available in App Store.
It's free and unlimited.

clicky

Just make sure that in the settings, you change it to backup when only connected to Wi-Fi (unless you have unlimited data of course).

Get a rechargeable MiFi device with a mSD slot; fit whatever size card you want, stick it in your pocket and connect to it via wifi.

Or buy a decent make that allows you to have removable storage; my phone has a 128GB mSD card fitted.

I second this. Be aware that the free storage for google photos does require you to use their app because it alters the size of the photo a bit. I don't know what difference you would notice in practice but they say it isn't really noticeable.

If it is photos that are taking up the most space and you haven't altready then give the amazon prime free trial a go.

You can do the initial upload via pc to avoid using the phone plan data and then only upload / download / view on the phone when required to save data if you need to.

You get unlimited photo uploads (no size change on the file) to their cloud via app or website with loads of supported devices.

If you decide to continue using it (I think you have to be paying at this point) then you can share the free storage space (photos only) with 5 members of the family iirc.

You also get 5gb additional storage with prime for non photo files but it is important to note that it is limited. Unlimited (for whatever file type) costs an additional £55 a year but I think you can cancel anytime. There is, or was, a three month free trial of that around too.

So if it is photos that are taking up space and she has good data access then give google photos or the prime trial a go.

With Amazon you also get all the other benefits of prime like free delivery, prime music and video, kindle library, twitch prime, early access to deals, prime only deals.

I personally find it decent value but it's down to personal preference. Try the trial.

Don't buy crappy low memory iPhones is the answer.

doesn't iPhones work with plugging otg adapters like android ?

Dropbox is always handy for extra storage and free (unsure of amount ) and the more people you recommend the more data storage you will receive

Thanks for the suggestions. It was a special offer for the 16gb, only reason she got it. It's mostly for music she needs the space for. I'll tell her to get a cheap MP3 player lol.
Thank you for the help

Recently my iPhone has been ridiculously short of memory and i've had to delete loads to free up some space.

However.....My handset recently developed a fault and had to be sent away for repair. I had to back everything up & restore to factory settings. Once reinstalled I gained almost 6gb back of memory and had exactly the same amount of apps, music & photos.
May be worth trying this as it gives your phone a good clean up.

If she has a decent data plan and is prepared to move away from iTunes then for music she could use one of the cloud based services.

Google music without subscription allows you to upload your own music to play from the cloud I believe.

To be clear - that would mean taking her iTunes library and uploading it to their servers. No monthly charge, just time and effort.

Just tried this mate and got an extra 2gb. I forgot about this trick. Thanks

I usually try to download Hearthstone as its 1.2 gb in size.... and because i don't have enough space, the iPhone 'cleans' and gets rid of uselesss data and documents from some of your big apps such as Facebook.... I end up with extra gb sometimes....

Hi
If its mainly music do you or your wife subscribe to a streaming service? and or purchased music?

Also, if you are holding back from updating ios then the handset may have already downloaded the update waiting to install.

Go into storage and if it's there, just delete. Often releases circa 900MB in my case.

I have an iPhone 6 and Moto E with a 128 micro card spare phone with ASDA PAYG sim free if you phone them 0800 079 2732 .
With Google Play Music you can upload music free, I assume then download to a device like the Moto E
I subscribe to Google Play Music and use the Moto E for offline listening. A recent deal had this mini computer at £25.00 from Sainsburys phone shop.
So not ideal - two devices.
