Swimming pool advice

As the weather is getting nice (better not speak to soon) i'm thinking about getting the pool out and ready.

I was going to put carpet underneath but because it's a big pool it's going to cost a fortune, so any ideas what is cheap that i can put under, i have the ground sheet.

Are you supposed to put something under them? I never bother, maybe thats why we end buying new every year?

Couldn't go round some carpet shop and collect a load of free samples?!

You shouldn't need anything other than the ground sheet, but if you are worried then get an extra thick but cheap tarpaulin.

I have a 15ft framed pool and it's up and on it's third year and we've only ever used the supplied ground sheet.

Just make sure the area is free of stones and level (especially if it is one of those Easy/Fast set types as they tend to slope to the side)

    council tip/recycling centre?

    roll ends from carpet shop?

How about posting on freecycle asking for old carpet? Saves someone having to take theirs to a tip if they're taking one out.
