Swine flu vaccines for kids. What would you do?

Just had the swine flu vaccine letter for my 2.5 yr old. Would you go for it, or not? Looked into it and the views are very divided!

oh no another swine flu post, have a search plenty of threads about it

im not giving mine it, i refused it myself so wont give them it,i work in a hospital and u wouldnt believe how many doctors, nurses, consultants are NOT having it!!!!!! makes you wonder

i had my letter for my little boy a couple of weeks ago and i decided not to get the jab done. i have always had all jabs done even MMR (didnt think twice abt that one). but this one just doesnt feel right to me, my sis had it done as she has asthma and she was very ill for a few days after she had it done and i think that was what finally made me decide no

Same as ours. No problem with the MMR, but as you say, this one just doesn't feel right.

My boyfriend is 20 and diabetic and had it done and was sick for a week after...

It seems to be really divided. I work in a GP surgery and it does seem to be 50/50. My daughter is asthmatic and has the flu jab annually - she's 10 and asked not to have the swine jab. I agreed with her - mainly because swine flu is not as bad as regular flu can be.

Unfortunately your damned if you do and damned it you don't!

I think of it this way.

My boy is coming up for his first birthday - we are also being offered the vaccine - if I refused him it, and he contracted Swine Flu and was unfortunate to become seriously ill, I think I'd struggle to live with my decision.

Don't bother with a vaccine, it's just like a regular flu.
It was only made a pandemic and hyped up to make medicinal producers money.
For medicine such as Tamiflu, the side effects are usually worse than the flu itself.

You mean, like for those who are immunocompromised, the side effects are worse than death?

I had my jab.....felt crap for 24 hours
My five yr old nephew with asthma had his and is perfectly fine (still hyper and cheeky) lol

    I said usually.
    Not everyone is immunocompromised.

yeah I know, just pointing out that it's a valuable vaccine for a large number of people.

my sons of 2 and half and 5 were invited before xmas and I decided not to,just got a reminder today actually but still not going, as others have said my boys have had all previous vacs but I just dont think this one is the same, and I feel different about it.

Both my grandchildren aged 1 & 4yrs had theirs last week with no side effects at all

We received the letter last week for our son who is 21/2, we have decided not to have the jab done.
One, because it doesn't feel right , (hubby thinks the swine flu was a man made hype).
Two,we are almost out of flu season.
I dont want my son to have swine flu but I also know nothing about the jab and I never believe what this government tells us now. So I think we will take our chances.

My son who is 3 had it done and he is right as rain after

I would have it done tomorrow if offered it

the whole jab debate rolls on from the MMR jab fiasco and look at what happened from that
