Switching from an LCD to plasma...should i worry about image burn?

Maybe selling my 40 inch lcd and fancied a 50 inch plasma. spoke to a guy in richer sounds and he kinda put me off with the image burn thing.
I'll be using it for sky hd/sd and xbox 360.
    how worried should i be?
and also should i pay an extra 50 quid for an Lg 1080p model rather than the 720p samsung i fancied?

got a plasma myself and do get screen burn when playing on the 360 however 30seconds on a snowy channel clears it, nothing permanent

No need to worry about image burn, unless you keep something on pause all night!
    Definitely get the 1080p,

thats image retention, not screen burn

I had a slight problem with my first plasma 2 years ago (LG32inch)

Bought a panny about 8 months ago and no problems whatsoever

Is it? anyone have bother with this?

Have had a Panasonic plasma for nearly a couple of years now and never had a problem. I used to press green to get rid of things like the red button which stays on in the corner of BBC1, don't bother any more. Seriously it's not much of an issue, and the difference is completely worth it.

At that size I would go for 1080p, but I would also save up another month and buy a Panasonic, seriously, they're amazing

So if playing Xbox 360 on a plasma , especially Fifa 11, will it be super smooth like my old 40 inch LCD?
