Switching from PAYG to Pay Monthly - Existing credit?

Hey,

Tomorrow I plan on heading to Tesco to sign up for one of their pay monthly iphone deals. I'd rather like to keep my current number which is on my o2 PAYG sim and i believe this is possible.

My question is, what will happen to the £11 worth of credit on this sim card once the number has been moved to the new sim?

Thanks in advance,
-thomas

you lose it, spend it before you transfer the number

When it did it on Orange, the credit came off my first bill

Hmmm, Did you switch from one provider to another?

You only get the funds credited if you move fro payg to contract on the same network.

Moving networks you lose any credit not used by the time the number port goes through. It does take 3 to 5 days so you've time to use it up.

Have you got your pac code from O2 yet ? That can take a few days too. . .

when switching from pay as you go to contract with Virgin they took the amount off my first bill.
