    T-Mobile Contract Help

Started a T-mobile contract around 6 months ago and for the majority, the service has been excellent and value for money.

However, have had a recurrent problem from the first week I had the phone, which has probably come about because I carrired my number over from Orange.

The problem is that I am receiving someone else's voicemail messages. There is no missed call just a voicemail notification. The voicemails have been intended for the same person throughout.

There is a cost implication with this, as voicemail is not included as well as a security issue as obviously I am picking up someone else's private messages and there is a possibility that this could be happening the other way round.

I have spoke to T-Mobile a few times about this, but it has yet to be sorted.

I might insist on having free voicemail, but it doesn't cure the situation.

So despite being happy with the contract, ending this contract and starting a new contract with another network seems like my only option especially as it would mean a new phone. Am I within my rights to do this? Surely they are in breach of their contract to me.

Plus I would want to port this number across if I were to leave, therefore can not guarantee that the problem will disappear.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Sounds like a network server error resulting from the port of the number.

Have they passed the problem over the the network support team ?

One way to cure it would be to issue you with a new sim and number and then move your existing number over to it. That would generate a new server profile on the network server. If that didn't sort it nothing would. . .

I know this is a really dumb and stupid question but have they checked your voice mail box number?

Yeh, they have reset my voicemail account, checked the number etc. They haven't suggested sending me a new sim though- I spoke to a technician directly last time.

As far as I can tell my voicemails come through fine, I am just getting someone else's too. I am sure there is some serious Data Protection issues.
