T-Mobille final bill - hefty charges - help

I recently received my final bill from T-mobile after I ported my number to another network. I ported my number within 20 days of receiving the PAC, so t-mobile have very cleverly refunded me the line rental for 10 days, but have also calculated the number of inclusive minutes on a pro rata basis, which gave them an opportunity to charge at standard network rates for any 'out of allowance' usage. I have ported out my number several times across networks but no where I have seen this unfair practise - most networks just allow customers to use full number of inclusive minutes even if they port out early.

The final bill shows a balance due of £55.

Now I cancelled the direct debit after midnight on the day when the payment was to be collected from my account. (the payments was to go out on 10th and I cancelled the DD on 10th evening at midnight - after the day was over). I phoned T-mobile CS on 10th evening at 7 pm and they said that they have processed the DD/payment at their end.

Now, the situation is that the money has not gone out of my account and I have not heard from T-mobile either. (9 days have passed since I cancelled the DD).

Will this have any adverse effect on my credit history? I am thinking of calling them up and am planning to make the payment over the phone.

What if I just want to part-pay? I can pay the amount which would have been due on my account - £22 and leave the rest until I file a dispute after 8 weeks as per t-mobile's code of practise. Will this have any adverse effect on my credit history?

I am a bit worried as I plan to go for a mortgage as a FTB in the coming months and do not want any problems because of any adverse credit history.

I need some help & advice here.

The fact that you have cancelled the DD will not affect your credit history, however the mobile phone company may record the event if you decide not to pay them the £55 which would appear on your credit report, again this is only if the mobile phone company have opened an entry to reflect this.

there is nothing stopping you from negotiating with the mobile phone company to finalise and pay the bill. They can reduce it if they wish.

If you have cancelled the DD and the mobile phone company has not presented this to your bank then the amount will not be taken, as you have canclled authorisation for the DD to be drawn. Even though the mobile phone company have processed it on their system, it only counts when the bank approves the transaction, which they wont if there is no authorised active DD for that agreement.

Why dont you call T Mobile and speak to them. I dont understand how you cancelled a DD on the day it as dye and it did not come out.

Sorry not related to OP, what happens if I get PAC code but not port it please??

Yes, I plan to speak to them but wanted a bit of advice before that.

I phoned t-mobile CS on 10th Aug evening and they told me that they have processed the payment. Thinking that the debit transaction will reflect in my current account after 2-3 working days I cancelled the DD later that evening.

T-mobile CS told me that they have processed a refund of £10 as a goodwill gesture and it will be credited to my bank account in 2-3 days. I haven't seen that either.

It will expire after 30 days and you will need to request a fresh PAC.

Just been on the phone with T-mobile CS and after long negotiation, I managed to get a total credit of £20 on the account and have made a payment of £35 for the outstanding balance.

I was expecting the actual bill to be around £25 so that's only £10 overcharge and the hassle avoided.
