    Tablet advice

I'm looking at buying a tablet for home use at under £300. Just looking for some advice on things like apple vs android etc and which models to avoid.
I've also been contemplating one of the laptop/tablet things such as the Asus Transformer if anyone has any experience of these. Any advice would be much appreciated

Just general use really. Browsing, music etc.
Would you recommend the iPad then? I've always preferred android to Apple phones but not sure in terms of tablets.
Are refurbs seen as a safe option nowadays? I always used to avoid

If you have used android in the past then go for android, ive never had a preference on either. I have an ipad, galaxy tab and a fire. They all have good points and bad points, i love the ipad quality but its just not good with kids, after a couple of years it looks like it been run over with a car. The plastics of the tab make it more durable and "bouncy". Unless you want to sit there and type up something in word then a basic android will do.

If you watch a lot of video then go for something with a high quality screen, if not something around the £200 mark will do you just fine.

Or take a look at the yoga, its a nice all rounder and also has a nice kick stand built in.

Thank you I'll have a look. And thanks for taking the time to reply

You can get an Asus Transformer at ebuyer for £200 currently (still I think) - IIRC it has 64GB storage which is better than many.
