TalkTalk customers get FREE upgrade boost to 24MBs (max)

Happened to be browsing my TalkTalk account this evening and looked to see what the upgrade from Essentials to Pro was worth to get up to 24MBs.

Rather than changing package I looked at the Boosts section and was pleasantly surprised to read that the Turbo Boost is free for Essential customers and will upgrade your download speed to the maximum your line will allow (up to 24MBs)
I went from a standard 8MBs line up to an estimated 16.6Meg line. It says it can take 24 hours to come into effect so I'll be very interested to see what effect this has tomorrow!

    From the website:
With our Turbo Boost you'll get up to 24Meg speeds! This means you can download a song in under two seconds, or a whole movie in less than four minutes...so instead of waiting for your downloads, you'll be busy building your families collection to entertain them all year round.

Talk Talk have the cheek to charge us an extra £4 per month for the service we received from Tiscali.

They have bought Tiscali and now I am losing out :x

Assuming the normal package is capped ADSL2+ connection (which I assume it is so they can offer a faster service than many competitors) then this'll only help if you're already hitting the 8Mbps cap.

mines gone from 8 to 12.5 mbps

Just be aware that the new profile they put you on may need changing, had to have mine changed from 24ISNR12 to 24ISNR9 then 24ISNR6 as it wouldnt go over 10mbps, just ask in the forums to get it changed
