You can claim for maintenance of your uniform - whether its tesco - asda - morrisons - etc

whether you are care worker or other

if the company demand you wear the uniform - claim tax allowance

get the number of your tax office - ring any and give your N.I number - they will redirect you

give them your info - depending on how long you have worked there - you could get up to £100 rebate plus change on your tax code for future allowance

if you ring your tax office they will tell you where your claim stands,,they have to write to your employers etc

i work in construction and claimed for tools and clothing,,took about 4 months to receive my cheque and for my tax code to be changed:thumbsup:

I have applied for this and just had my offer rejected on the grounds that although a uniform is provided it is not compulsary to wear! I am appealing against this as everyone on our shopfloor (I work as a sign maker) wears the unform provided because who would want to get their own clothes messy!

I think my other employers are also being obstructive (I have worked in the same line of work for over 12 years at 3 different sign companies) as I don't think they have sent back the request form from the Inland Revenue.

In short I am saying that although this scheme looks good on paper, you may have to jump through hoops to get the tax office to give you any money back or change your tax code!

Bear in mind, can backdate this to 6 yrs.

Although a nurse, no facilites for laundry so have to do my own. Got big rebate few yrs ago when I found out about this

Can you only go back 6 years? I worked at Tesco from 2001ish - 2006ish...

woohoo

i work at pc world can i claim... just a sales assistant.

Thanks
