tax refund..

how do i get one? i know i am entitled because im a student i shouldnt have paid any for what i have earned.

Is it a long winded process or what?

Best thing to do is to go down to your tax office and ask them. They are usually very helpful. You will be asked to fill in a tax return, in which you should include any interest on savings, earnings, etc. It shouldn't be difficult, and may well be worth it if you've had tax deducted from earnings and interest on savings. It gets easier after you've done it once.

Don't remember that well was so long ago but I just phoned the tax office and they checked my payments etc and said yep you are owed so and so amount, the cheque will be in the post. £850+ was pretty happy though mine was for emergency tax code while I was working.
