Taxi voucher scheme for people unable to use public transport

I wasn't aware of this until recently and thought it worth passing on.
Many local authorities have what's called a taxi voucher scheme to enable elderly people who have difficulty using buses perhaps due to physical or mental disability to obtain vouchers for taxi travel with participating taxi companies.
Terms and conditions vary depending on where you live or may not be available at all.
If you believe that this may apply to you or someone that you care for it might be worth searching for 'taxi voucher scheme ' and your local authority.

Any idea if its just elderly people? I care for someone with severe anxiety, depression and agoraphobia so cant possibly use public transport.

I actually learnt to drive so that I can take her to appointments etc, but sometimes I have my own hospital appointments which clash with them.

In the London Broughs, theres a scheme called Door2Door. Theres also Dial a Ride, that you can use for trips or shopping, - in reason. Though Dial a Ride, cant be used for Hospital Oppointment, as for as Im aware. Contact your local council, they should be able to give more details. I hope that helps...!
