Streets are paved with Gold in London innit.

LOL on the contrary, jobs seem to be annoyingly scarce here.
Infact its probably easier to look for one in New Castle.
Even Primark didn't have vacancies last time I checked!

need my garden doing. where abouts are you?

I would have thought the likes of Currys and PC World would be looking for older people.. 20 and older maybe?

Reason I say that is because you have to actually flog people their stuff and I guess the older you are, the more respectable you look. Not sure how I'd feel about having a 17 year old trying to sell me some tech, unless they really knew their stuff.
Personally, I've never seen someone who looks younger than 18 in PCW/Currys - mostly 20 or 30 something guys. But then again, I could probably count the numbers of times i've been to PCW on one hand!

Best bet is super markets, Boots, Superdrug, clothes shops...

how far will u travel iv got a lot of work needed in my garden.

I would have thought so too but back in sixth form several people worked at Currys, Comet and PC World - I think it's less of a summer job though and more of a weekend one as they still have to train you etc etc.

OP - car washing - mate of mine used to earn loads doing the cars down his road, he did a decent job and built up a good reputation among people meaning they'd be repeat customers. Summer is a great time to do it too. All you need is a bucket, sponge, cleaning fluid and elbow grease!

hmm, do places like Boots and Superdrug offer places to teenagers though? I thought it was hard to get them because of Pharmaceuticals being a fairly high skilled job?

My Cousin worked in Waitrose when she was your age, they pay well you get … My Cousin worked in Waitrose when she was your age, they pay well you get a good staff discount (20+%), get really cheap food when it's near it's date and you get a decent bonus each year and they try and get you a job in a diff store if you move to Uni or whatever. Well she's still there now 3 or 4 years on (whilst at Uni).

Ahh, yes that one seems to be a popular choice a couple of my college friends work there too :).
Will apply there.

Would say supermarkets are your best bet, unless you want to spend the summer trimming mucky's bush

Yup, they both take on teenagers. Boots have:
-shelf stackers
-people on the main tills
-people on the tills near the pharmacy
-the actual pharmacists
-and people on the cosmetic counters.

You could fill any of those roles except pharmacist which of course requires particular qualifications..

oh yeah, also try argos. You either server on the tills or collect the order from the stockroom - easy!

When I was that age I did car washing at £5 a car but £10 for polish and Hoover....with inflation you could maybe charge more it started slow but by the end of summer I could do 12/13cars a day as I had built up a rep and people used me....I bought lots of cheap air freshner trees from cash and carry and rubbish keyrings with my number on and did flyering when not working....was taking home minimum £80 a day and costs were less than a £5 a day and people kept coming back some once a week!!
I used some of the money to invest in a pressure washer which meant I could offer a wheel cleaning service and a path and patio cleaning service which I could charge a considerable amount for...I would do alot of work but get alot of money...I then hired someone to do the car washing and concentrated on the patios and paths...it really was easyish...just hard work required and politeness...I used my money to go travelling for 2 years and came back to finish my studies...I tellyou this as its one of the easiest things to start up and get a good rep for as long as you do every single one to a really high standard....I did a checklist to make sure i never missed anything...do it and let me know if its succesful for you...good luck...p.s. youre also youre own boss and can watch any games of the football you want!!
