    Teenage black head advice

hi my son has got blackheads galore on his nose and was looking advice on what gizmos or products to use to get rid of them. really deep routed, tried masks and creams but no luck. was wondering if the gizmos to suck them out on ebay any good or if anyone could make suggestions to get them out as easily as possible. thanks.

Give him a mirror and squeeze

never knew teenage males cared so much about blackheads

get those nails primed and get squeezing!

drinking a decent amount of water helps keep your skin clear too.. dnt know about gizmos though

Buy him some pore strips for the nose, think you can get them in the pound shop but some work better than others.

would steaming help aswell btw? good for skin... boil sum water, put a towel over the bowl and ur head

Magnesium sulphate paste will draw them out, he should also just clean his face with water, use no soap or moisturiser and drink plenty of water

I'm sure people here have never heard of google. Will take a fraction of the time to post and reveal thousands of similar questions with solutions.

dont forget you could always use Bing!..

My friend uses one of these, I think it looks like something from the dark ages used to torture people and don't know exactly how you use it or how well it works, but at £3 he might try it.

i heard this works quite well too

I know that skin problems are normally in your genes and you can't do that much to change it, but for clear skin the routine I use is:

    Morning:
Wash skin (tea tree and witch hazel is good for spot prone skin)
    Dry face
    Apply toner
Apply moisturiser (Body Shop vitamin e is really good and not too girlie smelling)

    Evening:
    Wash face
    Dry face
    Apply toner
Apply tea tree spot on treatment if he has any spots.

    2 - 3 times a week:
Exfoliate with a good scrubby exfoliator. This will hopefully dislodge some of his yucky blackheads and also get rid of the old skin and give his face a nice fresh feeling and look.

I was living with this girl and was like wtf is that when I saw it in the bathroom, she swore by it saying it was amazing. I personally think it looks horrendous, but if I had blackheads I would probably give it a go. No harm in investing £3 and trying.

OK, this thread is making me feel queasy. The work 'scrape' and 'squeeze' and the image of whatever crap comes out is yucky!
I hope your son gets it sorted OP, not nice for him.

P.S. My friend also said Biore strips. No idea what that means though.

has he tried washing ? seriously i use to get spots but now i wash my hands and face all the time ocd style and straight after ive eaten and for my face i just use water then dry my face with toilet tissue

    and now no more spots

edge of a credit card, scraped along the skin. It's a bit painful but quite satisfying when you see all the blackhead build-up!!

Wow some of the equipment is truely gruesome!

Now im not in any way homo but this is what i tried a while back and it worked like a treat!

    1) wash your face with soap or clean it with some stuff that will degrease your face petrol, meths or equivelent is not what i mean

    2) get these nose covering plaster looking things from boots and gently wet the plaster with water that has been applied with your finger.

    3) Place on your nose and leave for a few mins till rock 'ard

    4) rip it off your son's nose as hard and fast as you can. This will be satisfying to you and whilst cause pain to your son, will be a quick process.

    5) examine the pad at disgust.

few sites you might like to do extra reading up on

    acne-advice.com/art…tml

    dermatology.about.com/cs/…htm

    6) sit back and relax knowing that your son will not let his face get to that state.

p.s not helping when you come back for pubic lice lol

much as the idea of enjoying his pain appeals am not sure he let that happen rupz more than once, and could have years of this ahead, given no idea of how many pores and average teens nose has, ... not even going to google it either peops...lol.
methinks its a two part problem, getting the trees out of his nose and getting some serious skin peeling gear to clean and shut required. i used some astringent thing as a kid but think its off the market since... mmm, yes it was quite lethal if effective.
one problem at a time now rupz thanks.... lol.

To continue with great skin he can use a skin exfoliator. I have one from dermalogica and its great its called daily microfoliant. Use that every couple of days (forget wht the name says!) and his skin will be silky smooth lol..... he product is quite expensive but i think its worth it. at this point i would like to point out again that i am infact straight

    oh what a lovely smiley

That tool thing above was once posted as a deal from Dealextreme, have a look, there are reviews.

You just use the looped bit to keep pressing over the blackhead and it pops out lol

    dealextreme.com/p/s…881

The biore strips are pants.. I think they are anyway. The T zone ones (Home Bargains £1.20ish) seem to work better.
St Ives Blemish scrub is good (not the normal one, the tiny beads are near useless).
Tell him to stop touching them.. which he may be, either if its bugging him, or if hes paranoid.. hes probably doing it without realising and just making it worse.
The Clarisonic really does brighten your skin and keep it properly clean, but at £150 its prob not an option. The cheaper manual brushes are ok I suppose, but no where near as good as the Clarisonic. Feel Unique normally have some good offers near B.H's though, like 20% off orders over £100, so thats an option maybe.
Tea tree oil is cheap and pretty good, but I dont know if it will build up if not cleaned off properly.
Be careful with that tool, push too hard and it bruises the skin, and/or leaves big spots behind.. And obv make sure its sterilized before each use of course

had the exfoliating creams which did nothing at all, and all sorts of peel of masks etc and nothing made an impression, except on my purse! The stuff i used was an orange colour astringent but havent seen it in years, pity. probably was some sort of paint stripper, and illegal now. lp;/

I think the orange stuff was called clean and clear or similar, it was an american make but I haven't seen it for years. I agree it was fantastic.

Superdrug sell clean and clear cleansing lotion which looks similar. £2.75
