Ordered a Wii U on Tesco website Sunday afternoon, used £70.50 worth of clubcard vouchers to get £141 off so only had to pay £8 towards it, happy bunny, another kids xmas present sorted
Soon after i receive a cancellation email: "We work hard to make sure we have no problems with our deliveries, but in this case,we got it wrong."
No problem I thought, i'll just order something else, only my vouchers are now down to £0. I phone them yesterday and was told they will reappear in my February statement. I explain that I was hoping to use them towards a Christmas present and was told they could email me back the original value within 72hrs. OK, not perfect but I suppose it will have to do.
Curiosity got me today and I thought i'll check the Wii U out again and lo & behold it is still being offered for sale on their website, so why did they cancel it???

Update;
Tesco came through in the end, they reordered the Wii U and arranged next day delivery FOC so i'm getting it delivered tomorrow

Seems odd. I'd suggest phoning them again, but I doubt it will get you anywhere. You should definitely make a complaint of some sort though.

Just ring them up, they may do it over the phone for you

I would demand to know why it was cancelled, esp if its sill for sale. I would ring again and ask what had happened and if the answer isn't satisfactory, ask to speak to a supervisor. For all they know that could have been a major thing your children wanted, I would really lay it on and see what happens.Would like to know what they say though.

Cant ring them at the moment, but i plan to at lunchtime.

It's really annoying that they only do the vouchers every three months. I doubt you'll get anywhere. I had a similar issue and was told that there is no system in place to allow them to manually adjust or re-instate vouchers.

They did this to me on two different occasions with 3ds games, both in the sale both orders were cancelled with exactly the same email you got then a few days later one was back up at full price and on sale again, didn't check the other as I was so bloody annoyed. I wrote a complaint email to them and I got more or less the same reply that was in the email but it looked hand typed in red ink ... never using them again.

Try going into store to purchase it, somebody in front of me did the same yesterday and only had to pay 2 pound towards it, the young store clerk looked shocked lol.

But I don't have any vouchers to use any-more.

Have you tried looking at your club card account and re-printing them?

Did they offer you any compensation? I had two seperate issues with Tesco Direct a couple of months ago and got £80 in vouchers in total.

No compensation, I'll just be pleased if it turns up. They haven't done anything wrong so why should I expect compensation?

By cancelling the original order and putting you to the inconvenience of having to chase it up. That's very similar to the issues I had. I didn't actually ask them for the compensation, they just volunteered it each time (£30 the first time and £50 the second time). Just wondered of it was their policy to offer you something or if I just got lucky.

I guess you got lucky, never-mind i'm still hoping they forget to take the points back off me in February and I might still get the value back by email within 72hrs as originally promised??

Glad it all worked out for you.

Thank-you, I hope it arrives. It will be a lovely surprise for my son.

My children are having one between them for Christmas too, thanks to a deal that was posted here. I'm sure it will show up. I assume they will send some sort of email confirmation even if it was done over the phone?

So it looks like they upgraded to next day delivery and compensated for the difference (including the clubcard boost value) by gift card. looks promising for my points to be there in February?
