REMEMBER CHRISTMAS IS COMING

How to get a refund when Tesco Direct cuts the price of an item you bought

Here is something which not many people know.

Tesco Direct runs an unofficial (ie you won’t find this written down online) price protection policy. If you buy anything from them and it is reduced within the next 28 days, they will refund the difference on request.

If you buy anything from Tesco Direct, especially if it comes with bonus Clubcard points, keep an eye on the product after your item is delivered. Tesco may well switch it to a price driven rather than points driven offer a couple of weeks later.

Back in October, I wrote about a fantastic deal that Tesco was running on a particular colour printer.

Epson 350

If you paid £79 for an Epson XP322 printer, you received 3,500 Clubcard points as a bonus! As you could achieve £105 of value for those points if you used them for a Boost deal worth three times face value – and you got a free printer as well! – it was well worth jumping in.

Many people also chose to sell their printer on eBay, where you would net at least £30 after all fees and charges.

A few weeks later, Tesco reduced the price of the printer from £79 to £49.

People who bought the printer for £79 were able to ring up and have £30 refunded to their credit cards. This meant that they had only paid £49 for the printer AND received 3,500 Clubcard points – a fantastic deal.

If you have bought anything from Tesco Direct in the last 28 days, it is worth having a quick look at the current price ….

remember that Christmas is just around the corner so you start buying now, knowing that if it goes down in price you can get the difference refunded.

You could make this post to be "insert any company name runs an unofficial price promise" all you have to do is ring them up and chance your arm. Except those who either actually do (in writing) or don't (in writing - like Amazon)
