I did have 3rd party fire and theft and noticed on my docs it says

"The policy holder may also drive with the owner's permission a motor car not owned by the Policyholder and not hired or leased to the Policyholder under a hire purchase or annual leasing agreement"

I thought this was for fully comprehensive only?

i'm fully comp but can't drive other cars.

I'm fully comp on my private policy as well & it doesn't allow me drive other cars, its down to individual companies.

iam fully comp and can drive any car /lorry...if its says on the docs you can,you can ,bet hey ,phone them and see, might be their companys policy!

Does sound odd though, are you sure it's not followed by a 'except in thrid party fire and theft only policies' sentence? If not, you're OK - might try Tesco myself in future, I want my named driver to drive other cars too... might be a stretch!
