    use this one please

he will get paid on the 11th july and then every 4 weeks after that i don't know about tax!!!

payday is every friday in 4 i think next one is 2 weeks today. He may pay emergency tax until he fills in a p60 i believe and the tax office has received it but will get that money back. Way to check when he gets his payslip they be a letter after his tax code like 454L . If i remember rightly an X after it means emergency tax. Tesco pay you up until the saturday (day after pay) for your contracted hours. But any overtime or pay ammendements have to be submitted to payroll by the thursday of the week before. So if he works sunday before pay it wont come out til following months pay

There are no TAX benefits for students, it is a common myth. The reason that this myth exists is because students tend to only work seasonally they will be taxed as normal but as they only work some of the year the amount they earn is below the TAX threshold so they can get the TAX they paid back. I believe that £4k will be below tax threshold so he should not get taxed (not sure about NI though).
Hope this helps and makes sense.

Is Tesco HR department that bad? All definitive answers from there surely.

i worked at tescos for 3 years, i earned around that, i only worked on sundays, he will pay tax for the first 2 paychecks maybe until they have given him the correct tax code......ring up tesco and ask for this.....he will b reembursed with the money he has been taxed eventually, might take a couple of months to sort out and to get the money bk to him...hope this helps...o and btw every employee gets paid 4 weekly instead of every month, so in a year he will b paid 13 times instead of 12......tesco should provide employees with a sheet of paydates...get ur son to ask for one and he can keep it in his room or something and can check whenever he wants.

He won't be taxed unless he earns more than 90ish a week.

edit; Then it'll just be National Insurance, if tax then he can claim it back. Judging by what you said (4k a year), he shouldn't have anythin took off him unless he works extra shifts/hours.

attendance is a big factor so is your work completion rate if he hasnt completed enough work that his tutor sets or has a laid back attitude in lessons he wont get it either the latter was the reason i did not recieve mine 1 time  so i hope he is not cheeky etc
