Tesco to launch new BOGOF iniative, Buy One Get One Free.... Later

Tesco is to introduce a service to allow shoppers to pick up the free item from a Buy One Get One Free promotion at a time when they need it, rather than with the original purchase.

The retailer has launched "Buy One Get One Free - Later" to help households lower their amount of waste.

Not sure when but hot off the press.

    Brilliant.

I once had shopping delivered from Tesco and had one of my BOGOF items delivered as the other flavour was out of stock. So, if the above was the case, I could have gone to the store at a later date and got my remaining item!

    Excellent plan, great idea

Yet another great plan from Tesco

Haven't perfect pizza just started doing that??

    EDIT** just found it!

    Sweet

    Repped for that

Great idea if it works, but with most things related to Tesco I have my doubts.

By the time the computer says youve already had the free item and then your charged again.....etc. I dread to think of the chaos this can cause.

possible vouchers issued on your receipt is how id imagine they would do this

seems infeasible tho or maybe a cash cow for those that dont get around to redeeming them

good idea for tesco to get you into their shop again to fill up the trolley with stuff you may not have bought first time round so win for tesco and win for the customer as you will get your free food.

womder how much of an expiry date will be on them,

Yep, another incentive to get you back into the shop. Nice way of ensuring some shoppers pay full price. There must be tons of people who don't use (or lose) their vouchers.

Win Win Win for Tesco again.

goes with their expansion plans to take over the uk......and the world

they recently opened another tesco hug massive superstore in lamai on koh samui......theres already 1 in chaweng along with a massive big c.......no need

Tesco have always done this if the deal bogof is out of stock. Just go to CS and they give you a coupon to use to get the BOGOF at later date

I think Tesco are banking on peeps losing the voucher or forgetting about it. It's a win-win for them as it supposedly makes them look greener too ;-)

Are people that stupid that they deliberately buy BOGOF stuff they can't store or use before it goes off ? Oh...forget I asked that :giggle:

Yes I agree with what you say but as a loyal tesco shopper for me its perfect

If you are buying one at full price anyway you may as well take the free one too, the only things that get left to go off in our house is my socks, if something is coming up to date I will find a use for it or freeze it in the case of veg (after blanching) smoothies are a great way to use fruit up.

I think its really good for me because I often don't take up the BOGOF offers simply because I don't want 2 of them at the same time

Thats not a problem in my house, but if someone wanted to buy an item that was BOGOF, I'm sure the vast majority of people would get the free one, regardless of whether they will finish it or not.

what stuff are you all buying that you wouldnt want to take it there and then out of interest , coz the stuff i tend to get is stuff like toiltries, jars, bacon, chicken breasts, biscuits n basically non perishables

Could be handy for milk and bread.

But personally i'd just go to the local shop than goto my local Tesco (which is the size of most shopping centres. lol)

Sometimes bakery stuff and also things like the big packs of Muller yoghurts they have on offer

I personally think its time they just took a monthly direct debit from everyone in the world and allowed you to go and get what you want whenever you want, after you've had the clubcard barcode tatoo'd on yr wrist of course :giggle::giggle::giggle:

When they have complete domination I dont think they'll do BOGOF then. But in the meantime it sounds a great idea.
At least the barcode wouldnt be on your forehead...they would put the tesco logo on there.

i agree with the milk but how often is it on buy 1 get 1 free.....i always get milk from the local shop as it adds too much weight in the bags for the mile or so walk back with the big shop

noticed in my local morrisons they are having a change around and now there is a whole side of 1 aisle dedicated to just those muller light packs/boxes/palletts:?

If they were sooooo worried about the environment, and waste, why not make them half price instead of bogof now, or bogof later?

because they wouldn't sell as many, and they wouldn't get as big a discount from the supplier?

Exactly! It is all a smokescreen to get your money. Nothing noble about it whatsoever! I just wish they would say it as it is.

Indeed, surely they could sell a single item at half of the cost of the BOGOF if they really cared about customer needs, but this is Tesco of course.:x

Every little helps... yea right, it helps Tesco rack up indecent profit margins.
