Tesco to produce films

We already know that Tesco sells DVDs alongside its bread and tinned beans, but did you know that the supermarket giant is now making a brave move into the dazzling world of film production?

Tesco has teamed up with media company Amber Productions in a joint venture to make film versions of bestselling books.

The first film in the pipeline is "Paris Connections", which began shooting in France this month. The film has been adapted by author Jackie Collins from her popular novel LA Connections. Following this, three other "Connections" movies are in the works as well as adaptations of Dick Frances, Philip Pullman, Judy Blume and Jacqueline Wilson's bestselling novels.

The films will go straight to DVD and will be sold exclusively at Tesco stores and online.

Every little helps! Sounds live a good title to a movie :-D

old news - even older than for example, a bitterwallet story.

also implies they are doing more than just funding and marketing it - which is all they are doing.

I'm much prefer Carlsberg films or even M&S films, lets face it there slogan/advert's are like Food porn.

lol, product placement galore
