Did my first online shop the other night, quite proud of myself I was too....however!

Is it just me and they thought they would have a good laugh at my expense?!

I spent £75, but included in that was a Xbox game, so erm, £35 on food.

Came in no less than 32 bags!!!!

What's with that!? I have just done more exercise too'ing and fro'ing from the kitchen than I do in a whole year. Why does every single item have to have it's own bag?!

Plus, every bag was tied in a knot, which means ripping open every single one, so they are now useless!!

Argh! What's with that!? Any tesco's packers on here care to comment...

and to prove a point....£35 of shopping...not all bags pictured, was half way through my epic adventure by then.

This is now my own official moan thread. Tommorows topic shall be random long and curlys popping up in bizzare locations :x

Yes this was a feature on a recent Radio 5 phone in..it is a disgrace that supermarkets who apply green issues to customers who reuse carrier bags in store then destroy it with this.

gdesign...Send an email to tescos with a copy of your photograph as an attachment..also send a copy to your MP.

What to do is send it to this address:
    Tesco Customer Service
    PO Box 73
    Baird Avenue
    Dryburgh Industrial Estate
    Dundee
    DD1 9NF

They will prob send you out a good will jesture voucher for £10 for your inconvienience, we had to do several of these but really kick up a fuss and you might get sent £20.
Its usually because the pickers are just idiots or they dont geton with the drivers, you usually see them with big massive trolleys going about the tesco in their plain clothes, next time your in have a look coz sometimes there hard to see and tend to blend in with real shoppers lol

what they did there with all they bags is very wrong in tescos eyes, print that photo off with a letter and send it to the address above.

My driver was cool, had him a couple of other times when I done wine orders, so don't wanna get him in trouble.

Will leave it this time as I got 1083 points with that shop, so I'm all happy, but, next time I do it, if it's the same, I might have a small whinge (which I never don't do!) as they keep going on about green issues.

Wouldn't mind so much, but the handles were tied so tight I had to rip the bags open, so the whole lot are unuseable. Normally recycle my mountain of carrier bags.

I read on another site (and appologise for hijacking this thread) but it is to do with tesco,

That you can use vouchers for Asda and Sainsbury's at Tesco on the self scans? is this legal, I know some places take other stores vouchers, is this what it meant?

    Thanks

Possibly, i know that mcdonalds will match burger king offers - they accpet there vouchers

Dunno about self scan, never used it, but think you can depending on the mood of customer services. They don't wanna lose your custom basically and would prefer you to be spending those vouchers in their store than in sainsburys.

That you can use vouchers for Asda and Sainsbury's at Tesco on the self … That you can use vouchers for Asda and Sainsbury's at Tesco on the self scans?

First ive heard of this and i wouldnt think this will work as the barcodes wont tie in with tescos usual vouchers

lol @ grdesign, I do 80% of my grocery shopping online and you get used to it, but it is horribly inefficient and they will pick up bags from u to recycle, ripped or not.

Yes, it's the only thing in my life.

Quite frankly it's upset me so much that I have had to go see the docs. What with your comment too, it could push me over the edge

ASDA is the same. We bought our shopping in store and put all the shopping in the trolley unbagged after paying for it (as I can reverse up the drive and put the boot right at the back door so there is no point in having all that waste). As we were leaving a woman came running after us demanding to see our receipt and basically starting giving is a rollocking for not bagging everything even though she could see the 3ft receipt in my hand!

Normally I would have complained to the manager, but as I was in a bad mood anyway (as supemarkets tend to do that to me) I cut her off in her prime by slapping the receipt in her hand and telling her to shut the duck up and walked off.

    Grr.

Well placky bags are quite a fetish for some people..say no more but it's time that supermarkets turned on the green button when it comes to waste packaging...I just had 6 bags from an Asda delivery ..I could have got the items into 2 quite easily.

Brown paper bags dont have handles though do they? Plus, I'm not sure, I always see the bottoms falling out on them on the TV!

I actually thought though, why can't tesco's use their hoardes of old boxes? All my shopping would have gone in one box.

Spose it's just a lot easier to use bags.

why dont they use recycled brown paper bags like some stores in the states?

U need to say no bags or u will get bags

Too little too late. In the past 16 years he's been absolutely overwhelmed by these bags. Every cupboard, every corner, every crevice of his house is filled with bags. He has to wade through them to open the front door to bring in yet more shopping, in yet more bags, and so the problem grows.

Why couldn't you have commented 16 years back? This whole mess could have been avoided. He got fired, you know? Late for work too many times, because he couldn't find his shoes amongst the hundreds, no, thousands of bags, that fill his house.

But here you are, in 2022, the man's life in pieces, offering "advice". I'll bet you'd put that advice in a carrier bag if you could.

Cheers, Captain Hindsight. Your punctual reply is appreciated.
