TFT Monitors

Am looking for a new TFT monitor, kinda urgent as current CRT version now needs 5 minutes to warm up and still gives me black screens, web viewing aint the same

Anyways, I have a local(ish) PCworld store to me, anyone able to recommend a monitor which they sell in stores?

Would be using it for gaming and would like the keep the costs under £150 if possible.

Spotted ]this onetoday, think it's a very good deal. Very good for gaming with the 5ms response time.

they have a 19 tft @ 79.99 which seems cheap product code 884378
or this one @ 124.99 which is £169.99 in storeproduct code 637208

The second one looks good, nice specs on it, shame its mainly a web order one as I could do with it a.s.a.p. as I'm not sure how many more times I can get away with hitting this one

what size tft do you want?

there are some great deals online, I don't think pcworld will be the cheapest by far.

do you have VGA or would you prever DVI input?

Not as fussed about size, would say 17" minimum, my current crt seems to be 16" :-/

What sites would you recomend?

I have a d-pin connector for current monitor if that helps to answer your question, if not then I dont know tbh.

I got mine, a samsung 19" VGA, from www.ebuyer.com

It was over £200 about 18 months ago, but I'm pretty sure it's down to around £150 now.

i think its this one - its been excellent

I ended up getting a 19" widescreen one from Argos:

5ms response and 700:1 contrast.

It's just so wierd going from a CRT box to a widescreen

with PC world you don't pay online, you just reserve it then pay in store when you collect it (with the reference number so they give you the online price)

It's OK I just wanted to clarify because some people use the PC world online order & collect instore and get very confused when they aren't asked for credit card details, and then think that the order hasn't gone through

Or as i did go into your local PC shop i purchased a 19" TFT for £140 in november go on support yoiur local shops not companys like PC world

Would have loved to, but the 'local' PC shop is too over-priced and is basically a load of rubbish

I have a Benq fp937s 19" lovely screen no problems and very easy to use.
