While there is so much negative about many companies customer service, i just thought i would give great customer service a shout. I recently bought a duvet set from Asda for £12 (plus a fitted sheet) . After the first time of washing at 40o with 2 colour catchers, the colour bled from the sheet. Asda not only happily exchanged the item, but yesterday i recieved a gift card for £15 - winner!

Always worth mentioning when a company treats its customers well.

I've noticed that Asda customer service seems to be improving, while Tesco and Sainsbury seems to be deteriorating. I take this into consideration when I decide where to shop, it's good to have confidence that they wont rip us off at every opportunity.

I'll never shop with them again! They failed to deliver my Christmas grocery order sending me an email the night before. Their excuse was bad weather yet it didn't stop other stores delivering, tossers!

remember a story from a few years back about Asda.
customer bought some oven dishes from them and first time she used them in the oven, they broke and the dinner was ruined. so after phoning Asda they not only replaced the itemsand food but sent round a cook and cooked them a new meal.

Asda are fantastic. It is just a shame that our city is dominated with Tesco, Sainsbury and Morrisons.

We have only just been given the green light for a Waitrose.

Great news OP.

Asda's online customer service is pathetic, instore is always a different matter.

Whilst on the topic of supermarkets - I recently sent in a complaint to Tesco HQ about them selling out of date "fresh" soup (about 5 of them) and not receiving a refund (only received an exchange, which I would have been happy with, if it came with an apology, but the customer service assistant blamed me for picking up an out of date soup!). As an apology they sent me a £50 'money card'.

I don't like the staff or the customers at my local Asda both have the intelligence of a goldfish.

My Asda is great, shame its about a hours walk from house or I would go far more often, and like £3.50 return on the bus

Had good experiences with themn apart from once 3 years ago when I bought some milk and it was off, not just off but as if it had been left out in open for like a week and they refused a refund as they said milk and bread products must be returned within 2 hours of purchase as they are quick to perish theres nothing stopping customer keeping item for a while then claiming it was that way when they got it

Then again that was when they had the double refund policy(I miss that!)

Asda's instore customer service is pretty amazing in this day and age - can't fault at all.

You probably feel intimidated then?

My local Asda have great staff - its just the whole store in general I hate as its just massive, and of course the bread and milk is away at the back of the store and impossible to just get the basics with the clever marketing!

I try to go to a Morrisons when I have spare time - about 6 miles away

Are you sure you didn't get all confused again and started talking to the dead fish in the fishmongers section again rather then a staff member

Don't know if it's the same with your store, but I know the idea with our store is, that milk and bread ( and also produce and frozen) are near the back of the store, so things don't go at the bottom of your trolley and get squashed

@ Spikeyjacko - I thought it was just a clever ploy to get you to walk past everything else before you get your basics of bread and milk!

I havent been at a supermarket since 30th Dec as I know I will fill my trolley with all the half price crap that I dont need! So been going to local Spar but need to do a big shop today - leaving my bank card and just taking some cash!

The only problem with that concept, is that when you come to the checkout - the process is reversed, and after packing the shopping - the crushable items are back at the bottom of the trolley
