    I have a sony ericcson z710i that I had on a vodafone contract from new in Feb 06. I have been using a Blyk sim in it for over a year. Last weekend I got the message inactive sim come up, I checked with Blyk and everything was OK there so I rang vodafone to see if the phone had somehow become locked??? They said that the phone had been blacklisted. I dont understand how this could happen as I have owned the phone from new. Twice they have said they would get it took off the blacklist and nothing has happened they say they cannot do anything more. What can I do? I am the legal owner but do not have a receipt as it was over 2 years ago and I bought it through phonebox direct who are now out of business. I have the original box with the matching IMEI number etc. One other thing I forgot to mention, when I contacted vodafone they said that the IMEI number that was registered to my account did not match my phone and that the phone that was registered was a Siemens (I have never owned a Siemens phone) Any good ideas welcomed

    Have you put a written complaint into vodaphone? Considered complaining to OFCOM?
    Your box may help you with ownership. Surely it must be a mistake, ask what details they hold of you.

    Vodafone don't seem to want to take any responsibility as they say this isn't the phone registered to my sim??? also as I ended my contract in Feb 07 they had closed my account. I am not even sure which phone company asked for the block I only contacted vodafone as I assumed they would have my imei recorded when I purchased the phone (wrong!!!)

    I did email them when it stopped working and before I knew it was blocked they just said my account was fine. I couldn't find a phone number for them other than from your handset and that is not working so I need to find another phone to put my sim in and call them.

    Have you posted your imei number on the net asking for help with your phone on something?

    Thanks for your help I will keep on trying but I am not sure who I really need to contact to sort it out. I am not with Vodafone anymore do you think I would be best writing to the people that do the register??? there is not a phone Number anywhere for them only a contact address.

    Somebody has got a hold of your imei number somehow and has done what the poster above has explained. At the end of the day you are innocent so they should get your phone unblocked but you will have to contact ofcom if vodafone have not helped you and take it from there.

    You know the brand of your phone, is it samsung/nokia etc. If it's an actual vodafone phone then it is up to them to sort it out.

    Good news!!! I tried the phone this morning and it is working again so Vodafone must have got it sorted on the third attempt. I think they had previously been requesting that the block was removed from the Siemens phone that they had registered on my account even though every time I rang they asked for my IMEI number? I am now going to try and register all my phones to me before someone else blocks another of my phones.
